Atlanta, Georgia-based Insight Global is an employment firm. They now have forty-four branches spread across the US and Canada, up from just one office in 2001.
Additionally, they work in various industries, from healthcare and retail to aerospace and defense, and they fulfill about 35,000 job placements annually.
Their basic values, or rather their mission, are to "encourage hard labor and exceptional customer service. to "truly care" about its customers and staff.
Nothing is wrong with their guiding ideals. They tick all the boxes. However, they are the absolute minimum standards any business should aim for, and they only reveal a little about Insight Global.
According to their website, insight global was created as an entrepreneurial start-up in 2001 with the premise that staffing may be less about financial gain and corporate inroads and more about true relationships and meaningful effect. We've developed enormously and in a variety of ways since then.
Russell Huebsch defines it in a staffing agency article, "Employment consultancies (staffing agencies) help job candidates find a job in exchange for a percentage of the employee's salary" and "Often the agency earns the very same amount as the employee."
They are a mission-driven organization committed to empowering individuals through the value of the opportunity. We work tirelessly to put people to work.

Is Insight Global a pyramid scheme?
Technically speaking, Insight Global is not a pyramid scheme.
Many people think that it is, though.
Why? Because of its recruitment part.
But it doesn’t mean that they are already a pyramid scheme if they recruit because they provide other services as well such as portfolio management, training seminars, and engineering services to name a few.
They even actually help people find a job!
That isn’t the case with pyramid schemes because 99.9% of them don’t offer any product or service, other than forcing you to recruit others to join the company.
What is a pyramid scheme?
A company promising members payment for recruiting people to join instead of selling a legitimate product or service. Pyramid schemes are illegal because it’s impossible for everyone to make any money.

There are two possible reasons why you are reading this review. The first step is to discover more about Insight Global as a staffing firm (can they get you a job, and if so, what kind of work, what type of income, and so on).
The second reason is that you may have seen a job posting for Insight Global. They may have approached you about becoming one of their recruiters.
If you fit into the first category, Insight Global operates similarly to most recruiting firms. They serve as a middleman, connecting businesses and employees.
Unfortunately, under this context, you could also say that employees are being bought and sold. Employees are a commodity.
Suppose you're given a job with a recruitment company, and you know your qualifications are unique or tough to duplicate. In that case, you may have a lot of negotiating power to get reasonable compensation.
As a disclaimer, each scenario is unique. There could be various candidates for that role. Holding out for a higher wage is something you do at your own risk since you risk losing the job to another candidate.
It takes talent and quick insight, just like any other negotiation.
If Insight Global has approached you about a position, you may wonder what they (or the job) are about.
At Insight Global, there are two primary positions. Account Managers and Recruiters. Initially, you will be a recruiter.
A recruiter is a type of telemarketing. Your goal is to locate and qualify leads before passing them on to an account manager. You are expected to work what some may regard as extended hours (usually 7:30 – 5:00).
These will be long days if you are a new graduate with little work experience. Particularly given that you must make up to a hundred outbound calls daily.
Insight Global works by offering two major types of services.

Staffing
Insight Global functions as an agency that searches for people who are looking for a job and helping them find one which matches their educational background, skills, and characteristics.
It sounds good if you’re a fresh graduate because you can make the job-hunting process easier with the help of a staffing agency like Insight Global.
That’s a good sign that you’ll make good money with this…
But it’s not easy as it seems (more to that later).
Managed services
Aside from being a simple staffing agency, they also offer many services that business can avail.
Some of the most sought-out services are
- Skills training
- Business process outsourcing
- Software development
- Application services
- Business analytics
Becoming a recruiter and account manager
You can become a professional recruiter at Insight Global. This job is actually just like a telemarketer where you search for potential candidates for job vacancies.
In simpler words, you’re like talent scouts looking for people who need a job and giving them the job that’s an ideal fit for them.
Insight Global offers two positions:
- Recruiter
- Account Manager
You start out as a recruiter and your job is to look for and qualify jobseekers. Once you’ve sorted them out and chose the best ones, you then hand them over to the account manager.
You’ll work 8 to 9 hours daily — tiring and boring, I should say…
What’s worse? You need to make over a hundred outbound calls EVERY SINGLE DAY.
No one wants that. But why are people interested in Insight Global? Well, because there’s this so-called pot of gold at the rainbow’s end…
In this case — being promoted to Account Manager.
They’ve run an aggressive marketing campaign saying that you’ll make over $100,000 of salary yearly if you become an account manager.

Of course, you can make money with Insight Global because it’s a legit company that pays employees.
To understand it clearly, there are two main ways you can earn:
- Find a job with the help of Insight Global
- Work for Insight Global
How to make money with Insight Global?
I’ll be dividing this section into 2 so you’ll have a clearer understanding of what this staffing agency is really about...
Work for another company with Insight Global’s help
Let’s say you’re a fresh graduate and looking for your first job. You then get a call from Insight Global and are referring you to another company which suits your degree.
You applied, went through the necessary process, and you’re hired. You then make money! Sounds nice, right?
But there’s a catch — you won’t be getting the full salary from the company that hired you because Insight Global is going to get a percentage of it to compensate for the hiring process.
The amount or percentage isn’t disclosed by the company to the public as this is sensitive and exclusive information between the employee and the company. Sounds like a turn-off to me...
Or…you can work for Insight Global as a recruiter or account manager.
Recruiter/Account Manager
Work for Insight Global and start out as a recruit. Aside from your base salary (the exact figures aren’t disclosed to the public), you also earn commissions for every job position that you’ve filled in.
I also found out that they give salaries weekly.
Do good with your job and you’ll be promoted to account manager, which (again) I’ll be further explaining below.
Insight Global compensation plan
Like I said earlier, you can earn money by (1) being referred by Insight Global to another company or (2) working for Insight Global as a recruiter and account manager.
Recruiters
I did some research and I found out that recruiters earn an average of $42,000 to $45,000 yearly based on the stats presented by LinkedIn.
This is a bit lower than the US median household income of $56,000.
That’s a good start, though, if you’re a fresh college graduate.
Account Managers
The thing is, Insight Global over-advertises its account manager position, saying that it’s the ultimate goal that their recruiters should strive for.
Unfortunately, that’s another marketing gimmick for them as I found out that the salary difference between them and recruiters isn’t really that wide.
It would also be nice to know that there are many other MLMS that are similar in offerings and earning process such Insight Global. These are:
Is Insight Global a scam?
No, Insight Global is not a scam. It is a legit company that serves as a staffing agency that helps people find a real professional job or recruit other people to have a job and make good money.
You won’t lose money, you’ll receive a base salary, plus the commissions you earn for every referral.
Unfortunately, there are many negative reviews out there saying that they haven’t received their salaries and commission. I scoured the internet and found a few...
But that doesn’t mean they’re an outright scam, right?
Knowing that they’ve been in the business since 2000 and there are thousands of people working for the company.

What I like about Insight Global
There are a number of things that I like about this staffing company, which isn't found in others...
#1 Offers many benefits
Insight Global offers some benefits for its employees. This is a good thing as it shows it’s just like any other legit company, even though they’re not clearly laid out.
The benefits they offer are:
- Medical healthcare provided by United Healthcare
- Dental healthcare provided by MetLife
- Vision healthcare provided by United Healthcare Vision
- Retirement
Salaries and commissions are also directly deposited into employees’ bank account alongside online access to current paycheck status.
#2 Competitive salary
Recruiters can earn $42,000 to $45,000, while account managers can get between $30,000 to $50,000.
Take note that the average US salary is $56,000. Yes, the salaries might be below that, but it’s not really that bad especially for fresh graduates.
What I don't like about Insight Global
There are also a number of turnoffs I found in them...
#1 Many negative reviews
The biggest turn off for me about Insight Global is that there are many negative reviews from its employees and former workers.
Most of these are complaints about delayed weekly payments.

#2 Long working hours
The usual working hours for a regular company is 8 hours.
But with Insight Global, it can go up to 9 hours.
That to many people is just too much, considering that salary rates are decent and competitive, but slightly lower than the average American salary.

#3 Toxic environment
No one wants to work in a toxic environment.
And by toxic, I mean self-entitled bosses and rude co-workers.
Sure, that’s normal in any company.
But many former employees are saying the same thing about Insight Global:

#4 High turn-over rate
There is a high turn-over rate, meaning that employees don’t last long in the company.
I see this as a result of long working hours that lead to stress and salary rates doesn’t compensate well with their hard work.

#5 Deceptive marketing
Account managers are advertised by the company to be the ultimate goal of recruiters because you can make over $100,000 in a year.
This might be true, but it’s not always the case.
In fact, reaching this figure needs very hard work on the part of the account manager and recruiter, which for some, just compromises their health.

#6 Discrimination
Discrimination is another big turnoff for this company. And although they clearly say they don’t discriminate just like here:
That really isn’t the case because the usual recruiters that easily get promoted are the good-looking ones and those who have close account manager friends.

Insight Global sounds good to me because they have been in the business for over 2 decades, pays what’s due, and has 44 branches in the US and Canada, which proves their legitimacy.
But if you’re planning to do it on the sides or work from home and earn good money — this isn’t the choice for you.
You need to spend more than 8 hours of hard work daily, which surely isn’t what you want knowing that you’re looking for a money-making opportunity on the sides...
