What is Easy1up?
Easy1up claims to be an educational platform to help you start an online business.
They have a very fancy 6 minute sales video on their homepage as you can see below...
If you're like me, you're probably thinking this sounds great... but what are you actually supposed to do?
It doesn't make it clear at all does it?
So you're probably wondering...
Is Easy1up a pyramid scheme?
Technically no.
It provides some training (a product) to people like it claims it will.
But after quite a bit of digging it seems like the training really only helps you to promote Easy1up.
So in reality Easy1up is very similar to a pyramid scheme, but in disguise.
What is a pyramid scheme?
When a company promises members payment for recruiting more people into the company, rather than selling products or services.
By this definition, you can see how Easy1up is very similar to a pyramid scheme.
Technically outright pyramid schemes don't provide any products or services and are totally illegal in most countries.
You can see they are unsustainable and impossible for every member to make money in the Wikipedia diagram below...
Easy1up uses their "training" as the product they are selling.
But it's still very mysterious as to what is included in this training.
How does Easy1up Work?
They provide online training to help people set up an online business.
Their existing members can then sell this training to other people and make 100% commission!
So how does Easy1up make money?
Well, it's not really 100% commission because they keep their "processing fee" which is about a 10% additional price of the course.
Before we dig into this a bit more, let's get our heads around the...
Easy1up training
So supposedely there are all these different types of training that you can purchase from Easy1up to set up an online business. It sounds like it will be similar to other programs like Commission Hero or Super Affiliate System.
The screenshot below is from the "backoffice" of your training and gives you an idea of what's included...
It's so hard to find any thorough information about what is included in their training, which is never a good sign.
But from checking out a load of YouTube videos and seeing the back office (above) it's clear to see what the training will help you to do...
- Create sales pages
- Pay money to drive traffic to these sales pages
- Sell Easy1up to other unsuspecting victims
Yes, of course you'll probably learn how to set up your own email autoresponder and website, but you can learn this information for free online so easily these days.
Seriously just check out the 5 minute "training" below from an Easy1up member...
Can you see that the only way this guy has made money is from selling Easy1up to other people?
That is very similar to a pyramid scheme!
How to make money with Easy1up
There's really only one way you can make money from Easy1up...
- Sell Easy1up to other people
We'll check out the commission structure soon but you're probably wondering...
How much does it cost to join Easy1up?
There are 6 different packages you can buy to get started with Easy1up:
- Elevation - $25+ $5
- Elevation Elite - $100 + $10
- Vertex - $250 + $25
- Vertex Elite - $500 + $50
- Vertex Pro - $1,000 + $100
- Vertex Live - $2,000 + $500
There is hardly any information on their website about what any of this training actually entails.
Yes, they have a checklist of their what's included, but are you really expected to fork out $2,000 from seeing this...
You can see the following internet marketing strategies included in their training:
- Drop shipping
- Amazon affiliate marketing
- Blogging
- Social media domination
- Facebook ads
- Solo ads
- Email marketing
- and much more!
Now, this may seem good to you.
But I can tell you from personal experience that if you try to learn everything a little bit at the same time, you get so overwhelmed and end up doing NOTHING well.
If they have a bit of training for all of this, then you can guarantee that none of it will be thorough enough to actually help a beginner learn what they need to.
Easy1up monthly cost
The costs don't stop there either though.
Just for some of the types of training they are talking about you will need to spend money on additional tools such as:
- Domain name $15/ year
- Website hosting $10/ month and up
- Autoresponder $19+ a month
- Solo ads for traffic $100+ a month
- Paid ads on Google or social media i.e. Facebook or Youtube $100+ a month
- Clickfunnels is $97 a month
That's $326 a month at least!
So to "try this out" for a year you will need to invest around $3,922 on top of the initial course that you purchased!
Of course you don't need to spend money on any of this.
But just by seeing what their "training" topics are, this is the minimum you would need to spend to make use of the training and see any return on your money.
Easy1up compensation plan
Easy1up has a bit of a weird compensation plan too.
Most "affiliate" sites just have a straight forward commission structure of "X %" commission per sale.
First of all, they claim that you can make 100% commission if you sell Easy1up to anyone else.
That's a lie!
If you spend $2,000 on the Vertex Live course it will cost you $2,500 (including the processing fee).
If you sell this onto someone else then you would earn $2,000 commission.
You'd be $500 out of pocket still as you don't get the "processing fee".
Also check this diagram out...
The 2nd person you refer doesn't pay you the commission.
They pay the person above you in the "pyramid".
This is weird, confusing and similar to an MLM.
If you want to get your head around this a bit more then check out the 8 minute compensation plan below (it's a bit outdated so only use it as a guide to understand the plan)...
But also take note that there are many more similar courses out there. A few of the most popular ones are:
- Knowledge Broker Blueprint
- Website ATM
- 6 Week Super Affiliate System Pro
- Secret Society of Millionaires
- Yoonla
- John Crestani Internet Jetset
- Super Affiliate System 3.0
- Second Income Center
So...
Is Easy1up a scam?
Technically no.
Easy1up is not a scam as they provide training to help people with internet marketing and they will pay commission for any sales you make of the program like they say they will.
However, is it the right opportuntity for you to make money from home?
The rest of this Easy1up review will help you to make an informed decision.
Just to be fully transparent with you, I am not a distributor myself and I do not endorse Easy1up in any way.
I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. What I like about Easy1up
There are a couple of things that I like about Easy1up...
Key Terms:
- Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from referring others to the service rather than providing a product
- Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
- Red Flag - A warning sign
#1 Large commissions (it's not 100% though)
So yes you do get the majority of the payment for commission...
But as we already found out it's not really 100% commission otherwise Easy1up wouldn't be making any money.
They add on a "processing fee" and keep that.
#2 Some people make money
You can find Youtube sites that show real people are making money by promoting Easy1up.
How would you like to earn $50,000 in a month?
Well, these people show they make than much... but they do not show how much money they spend each month.
It's possible for someone to spend $55,000 in a month on ads to drive traffic to their sales page for Easy1up and earn $50,000.
That's actually a net loss of $5,000 in a month!
Always take these income disclaimers with a pinch of salt!
What I don't like about Easy1up
There are some hidden truths that everyone needs to be aware of before joining Easy1up...
#1 Only make money by recruiting
So the whole sales video and all the "success stories" I've seen online have shown people earning money in one way:
- Recruiting more people into Easy1up
Just look at what the original 6 minute video says to you when you're considering if it's worth starting...
There is this constant message that if you just sell one package to someone else then you get your money back.
This really begs the question...
#2 Is Easy1up a Pyramid scheme in disguise?
Easy1up is technically not a pyramid scheme.
They do provide real training and complete beginners could learn a thing or two that they could use to create an online business.
Is it a pyramid scheme?
No.
Is Easy1up a pyramid scheme in disguise?
I'll let you be the judge.
#3 Owners shady history
Peter, the founder, has been involved in numerous different companies in the past such as:
- Turbo Cycler,
- Business Toolbox,
- Infinity 100,
- Pay Me Forward
- National Wealthy Center
Among them, only National Wealthy Center is still in business.
Just check out the screenshot of "pay me forward" below too...
Does the sales tactics of...
- Direct instant pay
- 100% payout commissions
Sound familiar to you?
#4 No free trial or refund- pay and pray!
This is always a HUGE red flag.
Why can't there be a refund if someone buys the product and realises it's not for them?
Even a 24 hour refund is surely possible?
But here is what Easy1up says...
This is a huge warning sign.
The best online trainings provide a free trial or part of the training for free to help people make an informed decision.
Any company that says you need to pay to play and you won't be refunded is actually saying "we're trying to make a quick buck because we know loads of people will want a refund".
#5 What training do you actually receive?
So the whole 6 minute sales video talks about...
- why jobs don't cut it anymore
- how you can earn 100% commission
- why online businesses rule
- etc. etc.
At no point does it say...
So here's what our training will actually help you do.
When you're being asked to spend up to $2,000 on a course without a refund how can they expect anyone to buy this stuff when they don't know what they will need to do?
My opinion - Easy1up
So here's my honest opinion about Easy1up...
With the signs of being a pyramid scheme in disguise and the lack of transparency it's clear to see that this company is using some black hat sales tactics to try and get people's money.
But what if there was another way?
How I make passive income online
In 2018 I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.
Once I learnt about it, it just seemed like a great business model that can grow over time using the power of the internet.
So I tried to figure it out by myself... that got me nowhere fast.
Then I fell for some terrible online scams.
But eventually, I found Wealthy Affiliate. It teaches long-term proven strategies to build an online business with all the tools & support needed.
And this happened...
Once you learn the process of getting thousands of people to find your website every month (for free) there really is not limit to what you can achieve online.
I've reviewed hundreds of courses or programs that claim to help people make money online. And I've spoken to dozens of 6-7 figure online entrepreneurs on my podcast.
This is by far the best place I've seen to help beginners get set up on the right foot. You can read my full Wealthy Affiliate review here (including the pros and cons!)
Or you can watch an insiders video I made that explains exactly how it works here.
Thank you for the interesting write up on this business. I really did think they were more of a pyramid scheme. Thank you for putting me right and explaining the difference it really does help making everything much clearer and Im sure others will feel the same.
The format is easy to read and nice and concise. Thank you again.
Thanks Lee-Ann I appreciate that. You were spot on with your instincts!
Easy1Up is very expensive program to join! This is definitely for someone that is already successful in MLM business model already and have some connection to recruit the newbies and have them work under you. I do not like the MLM that is only focusing on recruiting the downline. WIll not join for sure and will warn my friends about this. Thank you so much for your review.
I’m glad it helped Nuttanee
I really appreciate this article. Thank you so much for sharing this great review with us. Your post is very informative for me. Reading your post I have known about Easy1up. I must admit though, I had my doubts about this site. But now, I have more clarity. The article and videos answered my question. I will share this article among friends. I hope they benefit. Much obliged and thanks.
Glad it could help! it’s not the best one out there for sure as it’s really only teaching people how to promote Easy1UP (very similar to a pyramid scheme)
Hi, Mike.
Thanks for sharing your honest review on Easy1up Program. As you correctly said we must attempt for research before diving into any make money opportunity as the Sales Videos are only perception changers. I lost a lot of hard-earned money by just watching the sales videos and joining the programs. Sincerely, I liked your Recommended Affiliate program and it makes sense to us.
Warm Regards,
Gaurav Gaur
Hey Gaurav, you’re not the only one!
Some sales videos can be so good at pushing our buttons and hitting on emotions. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst “opportunities” I’ve seen as it’s just a pyramid scheme
This article is very informative especially for those people who want to build a passive income online, isn’t it? At first, I want to give a special thanks to the author, Mike Beatty who has built a passive income online. This article is also helpful to make us conscious about online scams. A large number of people fall for scams because they have no idea about online income.
This article is very favorable to gather knowledge about the online passive income and online scams. So I request everyone to read this article with care and patiently.
Thanks to the author for your article.
Thanks for your kind words Tariqul! I’m glad it could help
I don’t know how should I thanked you. Its really fruitful for me and I have come to know how to recognise fraudulent.
No need to thank me Mohammad. It’s not right how many of these programs exist (I’ve been burnt from similar things in the past!) glad it could help
