What is 18k Ronaldinho?
18k Ronaldinho is a Multi-Level-Marketing that sells digital watches. However, they also are offering the arbitration and trading of cryptocurrencies.
It was founded by Marcelo Lara back in 2015, with the name 18k Watches. However, after 2 years, it changed its name after opening its own shopping center kiosks.
It was then the time when Ronaldinho, a famous retired Brazilian football star, entered the scene and endorsed the products.
It was an effective marketing scheme for Lara back then, but it was short lived as all it did was use Ronaldinho as an endorser of the product.
Rebranding
This then prompted him to change the company’s direction and rebranded it all the way in 2019 to 18k World Trading and Criptoativos.
But still, they’re still selling the same watches, but with the added offering of cryptocurrency service assets through their own Digital Academy of Money.
It’s also worth noting that the company’s base is in The Bahamas. However, their watch factory is located in Hong Kong.
Their LinkedIn page also says that their base is in Sao Paolo, Brazil, which is kind of confusing.
Here is a 2-minute video about their company you might want to check out:
Now that you know what it's all about, let's learn if...
Is 18k Ronaldinho a pyramid scheme?
Yes, there are a lot of signs that 18k Ronaldinho is a pyramid scheme.
First off, is that the main focus of their members is to recruit people so that they can earn.
Yes, they sell watches and offer crypto services, but the information on them is just so confusing that it seems like just a cover up stage for their main focus, which is recruitment.
What’s more, is that the Brazilian Federal Prosecution Service is already in a further investigation of the company due to the alleged claims that it is a scam.
But despite that, it’s still worth asking… Is 18k Ronaldinho a pyramid scheme in disguise?
What is a pyramid scheme?
A pyramid scheme is a company that offers monetary payment to their members who manage to recruit people into the company.
This is the sole and main focus instead of creating and selling legitimate products and services.
Countries all around the globe have already considered these as illegal because everyone can’t earn any sustainable income from a company which is only paying solely for recruitment.
Here is a diagram from Wikipedia which discusses how that happens...
There might be some other members who make money, but they do nothing but just recruit as many people as they can and offer them a business opportunity.
However, if you were to closely look at the diagram, you can see that there’s no business opportunity here because members are just going to run out of potential members they can recruit sooner or later.
Check out this 5-minute video which will show you how you can spot these pyramid schemes in disguise...
It's then worth knowing why...
Success is rare with 18k Ronaldinho
It is very hard to achieve any kind of success with 18k Ronaldinho or any other MLM company, generally speaking.
Yes, Ronaldinho is a successful football star, but that doesn’t mean that the company he endorses will also give success.
In fact, he just merely posts for posters and advertisements in exchange for endorsement payment from 18k Ronaldinho and nothing more.
Did you know that a statistical report states that around 72.5% and 99.9% are going to lose money?
This is because of the sales quota that these companies have.
What this means is that they must sell a certain number of products monthly for them to be active members and earn commissions.
If they can’t, then they just buy the products for themselves.
Thus, they lose loads of tons of money before recruiting their first member...
How does 18k Ronaldinho Work?
18k Ronaldinho is an MLM company that operates by selling digital sports watches.
However, they recently started selling cryptocurrency services such as digital assets trading.
They are also offering everyday people an opportunity to earn money from their home by selling their products and earning a commission from them.
It sounds like a win-win situation, but if you were to look closely, 18k Ronaldinho saves a lot of money because they don’t have to start or maintain any marketing campaign.
Instead, they just let their members do all of the marketing. I know, it’s a wise strategy.
But before we see if this is really the case, let’s first dig into...
18k Ronaldinho products
It is necessary that you know what the products this company is selling. This way, you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into if ever you do decide to become one of their members.
18k Ronaldinho sells primarily digital sports watches. Not much is known about it because they don’t advertise it that much. But here’s their best-selling model:
- 18k Ronaldinho Gaucho Carbon ($49) - A water-resistant watch that can be submerged up to 5 meters deep. Its back is made from stainless steel, has a backlit LCD display, and has split, alarm, and snooze functions. This comes in different colors as well.
Here's what their best-selling design looks like...

So, knowing all of that...
Can you make money with 18k Ronaldinho?
Yes, of course, you can make money from this MLM. But not that much. And not for too long.
In fact, you’re going to have a hard time seeing this as a stable source of income.
In fact, its members don't make more than minimum wage even if they work for more than eight hours per day.
18k Ronaldinho doesn’t even have an income disclosure document to show that their members are really earning money.
How to make money with 18k Ronaldinho
You can’t do much when you’re with 18k Ronaldinho. However, you can earn some few bucks by doing these:
- Selling their smart watches
- Recruiting members into the company
Not much is known about the crypto services they are offering, though.
And also take note that you can only earn from the sales that your downline members make, and not from simply recruiting them.
It’s a smart way for them to avoid being called as a pyramid scheme.
How much does it cost to join 18k Ronaldinho?
You need to purchase their business starter kit if you’d want to be a member.
However, this comes in different prices, with the cheapest one costing only $30. The next option is called the Start package and costs $150.
They also have a $300, $450, $1,050, and $2,100 option which includes more products the higher you go up in price.
The two highest package options are called the Premium Plus and Executive Package which costs $4,200 and $12,000, respectively.
18k Ronaldinho monthly cost
Aside from those downright expensive prices, you also need to maintain 135 PV a month.
And the costs you are going to incur on your first year are:
- $30 to $12,000
- $30 x 12
Minimum costs for year 1 = $390 to $12,360
Also take note that the other expenses aren’t yet included there such as the training, marketing, and other miscellaneous costs.
Yes, I know… It’s just one expensive business for you!
18k Ronaldinho compensation plan
And just like any other MLM, 18k Ronaldinho’s compensation plan is confusing.
This isn’t surprising at all, knowing that all MLMs do this! But you don’t have to worry about that because we’ll simplify things up…
18k Ronaldinho has 4 main ways for you to earn good money from them…
- Bonus Share - Earn 1% to 2% daily once you have reached your quota. However, not much is known about this bonus or how much quota you need to achieve to be eligible to receive this.
- Direct Referral Bonus - Earn a 7% bonus once your newly recruited member purchases their first package.
- Binary Bonus - Earn a 10% commission from the accumulated points of your downline team.
- Bonus Matching - Earn a 3% commission from the bonus of your downline team, up to 7 levels deep.
Don’t worry if you are still feeling confused, because it’s undoubtedly confusing!
This is because MLMs have fancy terms and names so that people will think that there are a lot of ways they can make money from them even if it just boils down to these two thing:
- Sell their digital sport watches
- Recruit members into the MLM
Here's an 11-minute video about their compensation plan...
This then brings you to ask...
Is 18k Ronaldinho a scam?
They do have a number of things which makes them look and function like a scam.
Yes, they might be selling legit and real products, but the emphasis of their business model isn’t there.
Instead, it’s in the recruitment process which allows members to earn.
Little do MLM members know that they are the biggest customer base of their company because they just keep buying their stuff, hoping to make it even with their expenses soon…
But is it really like that? Well, we’re going to find out in the next section of this review so that you can come up with an informed decision.
Just to be fully transparent with you, I am not a distributor myself and I do not endorse it in any way.
I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. What I like about 18k Ronaldinho
Key Terms:
- Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from recruiting others into the company rather than providing a product
- Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
- Red Flag - A warning sign
#1 Design
The only thing that I like about 18k Ronaldinho is the design of their watches. They look sleek, stylish, and classy. But that’s all...
What I don't like about 18k Ronaldinho
#1 Expensive products
The cheapest subscription package might be just $30, but that is literally useless.
To make the most out of your membership, you need to spend at least $2,100 to $12,000, which is just an awful amount of money!
No way would I or neither you pay just for a membership for this company...
#2 Lack of information
18k Ronaldinho doesn’t have any income disclosure, which is a sign that they might be hiding something.
They also don’t have an official compensation plan document, except for the one that’s found in YouTube.
Although that can be counted as one, it still isn’t enough to prove the legitimacy of the company, knowing that they don’t have an official copy of their compensation plan in their website.
#3 Negative product reviews
There’s a ton of negative reviews out there about their digital watches…
You can clearly see that there’s something wrong with the watches they are selling.
This shows that the company isn’t concerned that much on the product they are selling because their focus is solely on recruitment.
Yes, something smells fishy, right?
#4 Branding issues
18k Ronaldinho isn’t so sure about its identity because at first, they started out as a watch company.
And then they transitioned into the crypto services company.
What’s not right about it is that there’s no clear information on what they really are, apart from a few advertisements that seek to recruit people into the company.
#5 Is 18k Ronaldinho a pyramid scheme in disguise?
You need to spend $30 monthly for the subscription to the company.
This means that you are guaranteed to lose money even if there is no assurance you can make a sale every month.
And for you to avoid this, the only thing you can do is to just recruit as many people as you can.
Yet again, it’s another clear sign that there’s something fishy going on with this company...
#6 Downward trend
I make it a habit to check Google Trends every time I write a review. And this is what I saw…
As you can see, there are less and less people searching for 18k Ronaldinho.
This means that there are fewer people who are interested in it, which also means you are going to have a hard time selling the watches.
My opinion - 18k Ronaldinho
18k Ronaldinho is just flawed with too many issues.
First off is their product, a digital sports watch which initially looks good, but has quality issues.
Second is their expensive subscription packages. And finally, is the depressing business opportunity
Frankly speaking, this is what I can say about their presented business opportunity...
You can only make good money if you recruit many people, which is entirely wrong especially that you know all of your recruited members are just going to lose money.
There are a lot of better MLMs out there that present more interesting compensation plans and opportunities for you to earn big...
How I make passive income online
MLMs are not scams or illegal. However, I'm not a fan of them because of the restrictions to the expensive products you have to promote.
Once I learnt about affiliate marketing, I realised it's a far superior business model because:
- You can promote anything you want and truly own the business
- You never need to sell to friends and family
- It's completely free to start
In 2018 I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.
But I went from a full time PE teacher to making a passive income online within one year...
