What is Vantel Pearls?

Vantel Pearls is a Multi-Level-Marketing company founded back in 1990 by businesswoman Joan Hartel Cabral.

The company’s base of operations is in Massachusetts, but they’ve already branched out around the globe thanks to their ever-growing number of members.

They approach their jewelry business by showing the beauty of natural pearls, especially when they are in their original look and feel.

They also combine modern designs and trends with traditional pearl art to create something stunning that will captivate young and middle-aged adults alike.

Let's then know...

Is Vantel Pearls a pyramid scheme?

Vantel Pearls is not a pyramid scheme

The MLM has members who earn money by selling health and wellness products without the need to recruit people.

But even if this is the case, it’s still worth asking… Is Vantel Pearls a pyramid scheme in disguise?

What is a pyramid scheme?

A pyramid scheme may come in the form of a company or organization which pays members whenever they recruit someone into the system.

This is the main focus of their business instead of selling products and services.

Because of this, countries around the globe have already banned these kinds of businesses because in the first place, they are not really business.

Here is a diagram from Wikipedia that shows why...

There might be some members who make money, but they just do nothing but recruit as many people as they can.

You can also notice from the diagram that it’s impossible for all to make money from a system such as this as they’re going to run out of potential recruits sooner or later.

Check this 5-minute video for you to learn how to spot a pyramid scheme in disguise...

It's then necessary to learn why...

Success is rare with Vantel Pearls

Being successful in an MLM such as Vantel Pearls is difficult. In fact, a report states that between 72.5% and 99.9% of MLM representatives and members lose money.

92.3 Percent of Members Lose Money in MLMs

This can be blamed on the sales quota these companies have which means that members may only stay active and receive commissions if they can sell a certain number of products every month.

If they can’t, then they have to buy their for sale products for themselves just to stay active.

This leads to many agents losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars from their own savings before getting their first recruit...

How does Vantel Pearls Work?

Vantel Pearls sells pearl jewelry that comes in various forms. They also have their own kind of affiliate program where anyone can join as members.

Being a member then means selling their products to earn commissions. It sounds like a nice thing.

But what’s really happening here is that the company just avoids the millions of dollars they would have spent on marketing campaigns because it’s their members who do all of it instead...

Vantel Pearls products

It’s vital that you know the products being sold by the MLM you’re interested in. This helps you prepare and know what to expect…

I checked their site and found out that Vantel Pearls divides their products into 8 categories:

  • Necklaces
  • Bracelets
  • Rings
  • Earrings
  • Keyrings
  • Multiple Oyster Opening
  • Accessories
  • Gift Certificates

And here are some of their best-selling products:

  • Sonora Necklace ($109) - A stylish-looking necklace that is clad with natural pearls. There are also cubic zirconias around it for added aesthetics.
  • Bezel Button Pearl Studs ($80) - Earrings made of pearls. It also comes in different variations, such as peacock black, white, and pink pearls.
  • Eternal Bloom Bracelet ($84) - A bracelet made from oyster pearls. It is designed in a way that combines traditional and modern style.

And according to them, this is what makes them stand out:

Vantel Pearls flagship product

Seraphina Ring ($109) - A ring that features intricate cubic zirconia designs, which compliments its oyster pearl in the middle.

But what makes this stand out is that once you buy this, you get a separate oyster which you’ll open by yourself. The oyster then contains the pearl that you’re going to place on the ring.

So does this mean...

Can you make money with Vantel Pearls?

Yes, but it’s hard to make money from Vantel Pearls.

There are some who manage to make some bucks, but they’re very good at sales and they can be considered as extroverted guys.

They also treat this as their full-time job, which is surely not the kind of part-time business opportunity you’re looking for.

They don’t even have an income disclosure that proves their members make money...

How to make money with Vantel Pearls

You have to do these 2 things for you to make money from this MLM:

  • Sell products

  • Recruit members

But note that you can only earn from the sales your downline recruited members make and not from simply recruiting them.

Well, that’s how these guys avoid being closed and shut down by the authorities...

How much does it cost to join Vantel Pearls?

You have to pay $100 for the subscription fee of joining Vantel Pearls. After that, you have to choose from the 2 business starter kit options:

  • Starter kit ($99) - This kit includes an assortment of Vantel Pearl products that have a total retail price of $550.

  • Pro kit ($149) - This upgraded kit includes an assortment of higher-end Vantel Pearl products that have a total retail price of $800.

I recommend you go for the more expensive Pro kit option to get the best value for your money...

Vantel Pearls monthly cost

Becoming a member means maintaining 250 PV monthly to stay qualified for their compensation plan.

And you’re going to incur these expenses in your 1st year…

  • $100

  • $99 to $149

  • $250 x 12

Minimum costs for year 1 = $3,199 to $3,249

But take note that the costs for marketing, training, and many more miscellaneous costs aren’t yet included there...

Vantel Pearls compensation plan

MLMs like to confuse their members with complicated compensation plans.

Vantel Pearls is a good example of these kinds of companies. But I’ll do my best to simplify it.

Vantel Pearls offers members 3 main ways to make money:

  • Retail sales - Earn 25% to 36% commission from every sale you make, depending whether you’re a consultant or a star executive director.
  • Residual commission - Earn 2% to 13% commission from every sale that your downline members make, depending on your rank. The lowest is for the consultant rank, while the highest is for star executive directors.
  • Rank bonus - Earn $500 to $2,000 bonus once you get promoted. The lowest is for the executive director while the highest is for the star executive director.
Is Vantel Pearls a Scam: Compensation

Don’t worry if you’re a bit confused because that is completely normal. MLMs use fancy names and complex terms for members to think that there are loads of ways to make money.

When the reality is, there are just 2 things to do:

  • Sell products

  • Recruit people

Here is a more in-depth video about their compensation plan...

Or you can find the full compensation plan here.

Is Vantel Pearls a scam?

Vantel Pearls isn’t a scam.

The company sells legit and beautiful pearl jewelries. And they pay their members as what is stated in their compensation plans.

But members soon realize they’re losing money instead of earning any money from the company due to the sales quota. This is why some label and call Vantel Pearls as a scam.

The next section of this in-depth and accurate MLM review about Vantel Pearls is going to reveal the surprising pros and cons for you to make an informed decision...

Just to be fully transparent with you, I am not a distributor myself and I do not endorse it in any way.

I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. What I like about Vantel Pearls

Key Terms:

  • Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from recruiting others into the company rather than providing a product
  • Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
  • Red Flag - A warning sign

#1 Positive product reviews

Vantel Pearls has a lot of positive reviews and followers in social media. Check this out…

Is Vantel Pearls a Scam: Pros

This is from their Facebook profile.

You can see that there are a lot of people who are interested in their products and are talking about them.

This means that they indeed do sell beautiful jewelry pieces made from pearls.

#2 Established reputation

The company is one of the longest running MLMs to date as they’ve been operating since 1990.

This is very rare for an MLM as the usual lifespan is only around 5 years. In Vantel Pearls case, it’s already more than 30 years!

This is a good sign that the company will be up and running in the foreseeable future...

What I don't like about Vantel Pearls

#1 Lawsuits

Although there is no concrete evidence that they make fake jewelries, there’s still this talk circulating around the internet which says they are and that they’ve received a lawsuit.

The fact is, it really doesn’t matter if they sell fake or original pearl jewelries.

What’s not good is that some people will think that they are really into selling fake pearl jewelries, and that’s enough reason for them to not buy from you if ever you make it as one of their members.

#2 No income disclosure

Vantel Pearls don’t have an income disclosure.

This might mean their members aren’t earning good money. Or they just don’t want to spend the time and effort to create one.

This isn’t good, especially that potential members would always look for proof that they can earn.

#3 Hidden monthly expenses

Members need to sell 250 PV monthly to stay active.

If you can’t, then you have to buy the $250 worth of products for yourself just to maintain your active status and earn commissions.

What many MLM members do not know is that they are the biggest customer base of the company because they assure the MLM they are going to keep buying the products and hoping they break even with the costs soon.

#4 Is Vantel Pearls a pyramid scheme in disguise?

You must spend $250 monthly to stay active. That doesn’t sound pretty nice, more so when you check out this diagram:

MLM pyramid scheme

Well, that’s because that is a clear sign that this Vantel Pearls is a pyramid scheme in disguise.

You need to recruit as many members you can for you to avoid the monthly costs.

#5 Downward trend

Here is what Google Trends has to say…

Is Vantel Pearls a Scam: Cons

You can clearly see that the number of people who are searching for Vantel Pearls in the internet is going down.

This means that there are less people who are interested with Vantel Pearls.

My opinion - Vantel Pearls

Vantel Pearls sell good, useful, and beautiful pearl jewelries. They might also be priced competitively.

But what’s with their business opportunity?...

The fact that you must focus on recruitment is already a clear sign that there’s something awfully wrong with this company.

What’s more, is that 93% of the folks you’re going to recruit are going to end up money sooner or later.

This doesn’t sound right to me… It’s all about selling the dream of financial freedom even if you already know that this isn’t the case...

How I make passive income online

MLMs are not scams or illegal. However, I'm not a fan of them because of the restrictions to the expensive products you have to promote.

Once I learnt about affiliate marketing, I realised it's a far superior business model because:

  • You can promote anything you want and truly own the business
  • You never need to sell to friends and family
  • It's completely free to start

In 2018 I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.

But I went from a full time PE teacher to making a passive income online within one year...
