What is Numedia?

Before Numedia, there was a company called 247 SmartLife.

This company sells a streaming service which they call as the TVizion. But things didn’t go as planned for this company because Dish Network, another US television company, sued them with a lawsuit.

Dish said that TVizion pirated the streaming and airing rights of various channels. Because of this, Dish, with the help of the authorities, forced 247 SmartLife to shut down the company.

Jim Pshehalouk, the founder of 247 SmartLife followed. However, the website is still up and running until now. He claims that this is legal because the order was just to turn down the site.

Furthermore, TVizion was said to have been acquired by Numedia, a  Multi-Level-Marketing company.

According to reports, the acquisition amounted to a $220 million deal.

But then again, there are no solid proof or evidence to back things up. Numedia also does not have any background details available, such as who runs the company or where it is based.

There is a good chance that the acquisition was just all staged so that 247 SmartLife will still be available.

Also note that Numedia shares the same business operations aas 247 SmartLife because they offer cable streaming services.

Let us then dive further and learn...

Is Numedia a pyramid scheme?

Nope, not really. Numedia isn’t a pyramid scheme because members can make money by selling subscription plans.

But they still need to recruit other people. So that leaves us with the choice of asking… Is Numedia a pyramid scheme in disguise?

What is a pyramid scheme?

A pyramid scheme is a company that survives by means of recruitment. These companies pay their members whenever they recruit someone into the system.

This is why a lot of countries have already banned them because there is no way they can survive and continue operating in the long run if the only income they get are from recruitment.

Here is a diagram from Wikipedia which clearly shows this...

Members who actually do make money are actually just very rare. And these don’t do anything but just recruit as many people as they can and say that there’s a wonderful business opportunity waiting for them.

But check back on the diagram and you can clearly say that this is not the case.

You are just going to run out of members to recruit sooner or later.

Here is a 5-minute video that will help you spot a pyramid scheme in disguise...

But still, why do many say...

Success is rare with Numedia

Success is hard for MLMs.

Statistics state that between 72.5% and 99.9% of MLM agents and members lose money.

92.3 Percent of Members Lose Money in MLMs

This is blamed on the sales quota imposed on them where they can only stay active and make money if they sell a certain number of products in a month.

Not doing this means that they just have to buy the products for themselves, thus losing money.

This is also the reason why most MLM members lose thousands of dollars from their own savings before they can get their first recruit.

How does Numedia Work?

Numedia works by providing cable streaming services.

They also have their own special kind of affiliate program where anyone can join as members and then sell subscription plans to customers for them to earn money.

They can also get bonuses whenever they recruit people into the system.

It sounds nice but it’s really just a one-sided deal because it’s just Numedia that benefits knowing that they save millions of dollars in supposed marketing campaigns.

It’s because their members are the ones who do all the advertising and marketing...

Numedia services

Numedia offers TV streaming services. They have a special app for this which can be downloaded into any device.

However, I checked their app and saw that it was incompatible with iOS devices. Hence, it can just operate on Android ones.

Here are the things you can expect to gain access to when you subscribe to their TV streaming service:

  • More than 3,000 HD channels
  • Premium movie channels
  • Sports channels
  • Children’s channels
  • News channels
  • International Channels

And here are some of the most popular channels you can enjoy:

  • HBO
  • Showtime
  • NFL Sunday Ticket
  • NBA TV
  • Golf Channel
  • Fox News
  • CNN
  • MLB Network
  • CNN

It is also very easy to start using the service because you just have to download the app to your device via the Google Playstore.

You then enter the activation code for you to gain access to all of the channels and features.

Let us then dwell into the practical stuff and learn if...

Can you make money with Numedia?

It is hard to earn a good income from Numedia, or any other MLM, generally speaking.

There are some who do make money, but the income they make are just similar to or even lower to minimum wage. And they work throughout the day, for just very little compensation.

What’s more, is that they don’t have an income disclosure to prove members make money.

How to make money with Numedia

Members do these things to earn money:

  • Sell subscription plans
  • Recruit members into the company

But also note that you can get bonuses whenever your recruited member recruits, and not by simply just recruiting them.

It’s a smart way to avoid being called a pyramid scheme because the earning from the recruitment doesn’t happen directly.

How much does it cost to join Numedia?

You have to pay $50 a month to subscribe to their TV streaming service.

But if you’d like to be a member of their affiliate program, then you have to buy and choose any of the bundles below:

  • 1 Star Promoter ($250)
  • 2 Star Promoter ($500)
  • 3 Star Promoter ($1,000)

It is best to go for the most expensive choice because even if it’s expensive, you still get a lot of bundle packages.

In simpler words, it’s the best value deal.

Numedia monthly cost

There is no quota, but you still have to pay $50 monthly for the subscription fee.

And here are the costs for your 1st year...

  • $250 to $1,000
  • $50 x 12

Minimum costs for year 1 = $850 to $1,600

Also note that this does not still include the other miscellaneous costs like training…

Numedia compensation plan

MLM companies confuse people with their compensation plans.

Either they are so complex or they just do their best to make a whirlwind of an explanation.

Good thing you have found this article because I am going to simplify things for you…

Numedia offers 3 main ways that their members can earn some bucks:

  • Retail commissions - Earn a 20% commission every time you sell a subscription plan.
  • Recruitment commissions - Earn $75 to $300 when you recruit someone. The amount you get depends on the bundle they choose. You get more if they choose the more expensive bundles.
  • Residual commissions - Earn a specific percentage from the sales of your downline recruited members. The amount isn’t disclosed. Maybe they are just going to say it once you’ve signed up.

Is Numedia a Scam: Compensation

If it sounds confusing, then that is just a normal experience you get.

This is because MLMs use fancy terms and complex names and acronyms on their compensation plans so members will think there are a lot of ways they can make money.

But the reality is, they just have to do these 2 things:

  • Sell products
  • Recruit people

Here is a comprehensive 29-minute video about their compensation plan:

Or you can find the full compensation plan here.

Also note that there are many more MLMs that sell the same stuff as Numedia just like:

Is Numedia a scam?

Numedia is not a scam.

The company might have some skeptics questioning their legitimacy and the legality of their streamed channels. But they’re still up and running on the Google Playstore.

If they are illegal, then Google would surely have removed them from their app store.

There are also customers who are enjoying their streaming service, as well as members who get paid correctly.

But still many members dismiss the company as a scam because they paid too much for the subscription and bundles and they can’t recruit people for them to take back their capital investment.

Hence, they then call the company a scam…

The rest of this review is going to dive deeper into that and help you decide if this is the right business opportunity for you or not...

Just to be fully transparent with you, I am not a distributor myself and I do not endorse it in any way.

I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. What I like about Numedia

Key Terms:

  • Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from recruiting others into the company rather than providing a product
  • Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
  • Red Flag - A warning sign

#1 In-demand service

There are really not many nice things to say about Numedia. Except for this well known fact.

More people are getting hooked to streaming services, that it has become a main part of their lives.

Here is a diagram to show how the popularity of streaming services have increased through the years…

As you can see, the trend is going up, which means that there are a lot of people who would want the TV streaming services offered by Numedia.

What I don't like about Numedia

#1 Expensive products

You need to pay a lot of money just to become an affiliate member…

Is Numedia a Scam: Cons
Clearly, you can see that this isn’t just a small cost because you need to shell out a considerable amount of cash for you to be eligible to receive commissions and bonuses from the sales and recruitment that you do.

#2 Lacks income disclosure

An income disclosure is an important document for an MLM because this shows if their members actually do make money.

But Numedia does not have any income disclosure.

Maybe this is because they don’t want to let people know that their members aren’t really earning, but just losing money...

#3 Pirated content

There are a lot of complaints saying that the content that Numedia streams is pirated and that they don’t have the legal rights to stream and air them to their customers.

This is technically what happened to TVizion, which is the main service offered by the company that they purchased.

Although this is not yet conclusive proven, there is a good chance that this issue stands on firm ground.

#4 Hidden monthly expenses

Subscribing and becoming a member means you need to pay $50 a month.

This is to continuously receive the streaming services, to become an active member, and stay eligible for the commissions and bonuses you can earn.

#5 Is Numedia a pyramid scheme in disguise?

Yes, Numedia is a pyramid scheme in disguise because although you can earn money from the sales you make, the money you earn is still very small compared to the amount you can get from recruiting other people

This is how they system looks...

MLM pyramid scheme

The more people you recruit, the bigger your downline gets.

And a bigger downline network also means getting more commissions and earning more money.

#6 Downward trend

Google Trends shows me this…

Is Numedia a Scam: Cons 2

As you can see, there are fewer people searching for Numedia in Google.

This means that people are not anymore that interested with Numedia and the streaming services they offer.

You are going to have a hard time selling the streaming bundles if this is the case.

My opinion - Numedia

Numedia sells and provides streaming services, which is surely one of the most in-demand stuff these days because of the pandemic.

So far, they are still accepted by Google, which means they are legal. And they also pay members correctly.

But the thing is, the subscriptions are just overpriced. Also, here is what I can say from their business opportunity...

The only profitable and best way you can make money is if you are able to recruit a lot of people.

This is not right because you recruit even if you already know that these recruits are going to lose money sooner or later.

In no way does this sound right to me.

There are a lot of other better business opportunities out there you can try for yourself...

How I make passive income online

MLMs are not scams or illegal. However, I'm not a fan of them because of the restrictions to the expensive products you have to promote.

Once I learnt about affiliate marketing, I realised it's a far superior business model because:

  • You can promote anything you want and truly own the business
  • You never need to sell to friends and family
  • It's completely free to start

In 2018 I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.

But I went from a full time PE teacher to making a passive income online within one year...
