The lessons are provided by the University of Illinois. Aside from that, the specialization is part of the school’s iMBA (Masters of Business Administration) degree program.

Digital Marketing Specialization is ideal for beginners. You don’t need any experience in digital marketing to enroll in this. According to the course itself, you’ll need at least 8 months to finish it.

This specialization examines various areas of the modern digital marketing environment, including digital marketing analytics, social media marketing, search engine optimization, and 3D printing.

After completing the digital marketing specialization, you will have a comprehensive awareness of the integrations of the new digital marketing landscape and the new concepts, stories, and tools required to digitally produce, distribute, promote, and price products and services.

For those who don’t know, a Specialization from Coursera is a series of courses that can help a person master a particular skill.

Coursera Specializations are collections of courses designed to help you become an expert in a certain field. 

To begin, either sign up for the specialization or look over its courses to see which one best suits your needs.

If you sign up for one course that's part of a specialization, you'll get the specialization for free. If you only want to take one class, that's fine; you may suspend your membership at any time, and there are no penalties for canceling early.

As the course progresses, you may always check in on your learner dashboard to reflect and adjust as necessary.

Every Specialization requires the completion of a hands-on project. You must complete the project(s) to get your certificate and complete the Specialization. If the Specialization contains a separate course for the hands-on project, you must complete all other courses before beginning it.

When you finish every course and the hands-on project, you'll get a certificate to share with potential employers and your professional network.

Whenever a student enrolls in a specific course that’s part of the Specialization, that student will be automatically enrolled in the complete Specialization.

Of course, you can simply finish one course and end your subscription if you don’t want to complete the entire Specialization.

All Specializations include a hands-on project. You will be required to complete the project successfully to finish the Specialization and get your certificate.

The total time to finish all lessons in this course is 26 hours. However, it’s broken down into 1 month. 

Course 2: Marketing in a Digital World

This is the second course of the Specialization program. It’s also one of the most well-known courses when it comes to Digital Marketing on Coursera. It has more than 500,000 students enrolled.

In the Marketing in a Digital World course, you will get a deep understanding of how digital channels, such as mobiles and the Internet, are transforming the world of marketing.

Just like the first course, the second course is completely theoretical as well. This means it won’t teach you how to do digital marketing. However, it only explains how digital marketing changed the way businesses approach price, placement, and product promotion.

You’ll need at least 29 hours to finish all the lessons in this course. The course material is broken down into 1 month.

Course 3: Digital Marketing Analytics in Theory

This course is being taught by the Head of Analytics at Google, Kevin Hartman. Just like the first two courses, the Digital Marketing Analytics in Theory course is completely theoretical.

It will teach you data analytics. It explains what data analytics is, how to utilize the most effective methods to present your data, and how to pick the right tools.

You can finish all the lessons in this course in under 20 hours.

Course 4: Digital Marketing Analytics in Practice

This is another course that is being taught by Kevin Hartman. It’s the continuation of the 3rd course. 

In the Digital Marketing Analytics in Practice course, you will learn how to produce meaningful data analytics reports utilizing the methods explained in both data analytics courses.

During the 3rd week, you will work on a case study about a manufacturing and design company and learn how to report, analyze, collect, and plan data.

You’ll need at least 21 hours to finish this entire course.

Course 5: Digital Media and Marketing Principles

This course is the first course in the Specialization program that touches on some of the most crucial topics of digital marketing.

In the Digital Media and Marketing Principles course, you will learn how mobile marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, and search marketing can be utilized by marketers as promotion and sales channels.

Mike Yao is the instructor for this course. He’s a professor of Digital Media. You’ll need at least 20 hours to finish this course. 

Course 6: Digital Media and Marketing Strategies

This is the 6th course in the Specialization program. Here, you will learn how to monitor, perform, and plan a digital marketing campaign.

It is the most interesting course in this whole specialization program. It’s also the one that touches the most vital aspect of digital marketing, which is running targeted digital marketing campaigns.

If you don’t have a lot of time to finish the entire Specialization program, then you should choose this course since it’s the most useful one.

You will also need at least 20 hours to finish all the lessons in this course.

Course 7: Digital Marketing Capstone

This is the last course of the Specialization program. It is a practical course created to provide you with hands-on experience with digital marketing campaigns. 

The course will let you play the role of a digital marketing manager via an online simulation. You will handle a company that sells digital cameras online.

In this course, you will need to:

  • Do keyword research and make targeted ad campaigns
  • Work on SEO and landing page optimization
  • Perform an email marketing campaign
  • Collect and analyze the performance of each campaign

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to access this course unless you finish all 6 courses in the Specialization program.

How to Join Digital Marketing Specialization

If you want to join the Digital Marketing Specialization of Coursera, you don’t have to worry about anything. It’s quite easy, especially if you follow the steps below.

First of all, you need to open your favorite browser and head to any search engine. Next, type “Coursera” in the search bar and hit enter.

Once you’re on the search result page, click on the first link you find. It should be from “Coursera.org”. 

After clicking the link, you should be on the homepage of Coursera. You’ll also find a search bar on the top left of the website. There, type in “Digital Marketing Specialization” and hit enter.

Then, click on the first result. It should be Digital Marketing from the University of Illinois. Lastly, click on the “Enroll for Free” button and fill in your personal information and you’re good to go.

The Digital Marketing Specialization program by Coursera is a subscription-based course. This means that you’ll have to pay every month to gain access to the course. It’s not a one-time fee.

If you think about it, it’s extremely long for a digital marketing course. This is particularly true when you know that there are other courses out there that will help you learn Digital Marketing for a short period.

#3 Creators don't provide a refund

The Digital Marketing Specialization program by Coursera does not offer refund.

But there is no assurance that you can make money if you just finish the course. It is still up to you on how you are going to implement the stuff taught by this course in real life...

Aside from that, the course mentions a couple of hacks and secrets. However, one thing you should always remember is that you cannot hack Google.

Unlike other online courses, joining the SEO Mastery course by Joshua Earp can be tricky. If you search “SEO Mastery” alone on Google, it will give you many results that aren’t related to Joshua Earp’s course.

Because of this, if you want to join SEO Mastery, you need to search “SEO Mastery by Joshua Earp” on Google or other search engines. 

After that, the top result should be from adeptseocourse.com. That’s the result you need. Click on that link, and it will direct you to the main website of the course.

Once you’re on the main page of Adept SEO, the next thing you need to do is to scroll down a little until you find a button that says “Yes, I Want Access to My SEO Mastery Membership”.

Click on that button. Then, you’ll have to fill in your details and choose a payment plan. Finally, you’re good to go.

Before you can get lifetime access to all the modules inside the course, you will need to pay the fee first.

Navigation is pretty easy. When you’re done with one module, you’ll find a button at the end of the module that will lead you to the next module.

#3 All training focuses on white hat SEO

As much as possible, SEO professionals recommend avoiding Gray-Hat and Black-Hat SEO. Unfortunately, a couple of SEO courses still recommend these tactics even though they’re extremely risky. 

Fortunately, that isn’t the case with the Beginner’s Guide to SEO. This course will only teach you White-Hat SEO strategies.

While reading the lessons in this course, you’ll find that they typically insert their products in the lessons.

Because of this, you might think that you need Moz tools to proceed. However, that isn’t the case.

#3 You need Moz Pro if you want to dive deeper

After finishing the entire course, what should you do next? You probably want to improve your knowledge and skills, right?

Well, if you want that to happen, you’ll need a Moz Pro account to get access to their advanced courses. This means that you’ll need to pay a subscription-based fee.

My opinion - Beginner's Guide to SEO

So, is the Beginner’s Guide to SEO by Moz a good course? In my opinion, it’s an excellent course. This is particularly true if you’re a beginner. 

It’s a great resource if you want to learn all the basics and fundamentals of SEO. It will also teach you things to avoid to make sure you won’t harm your website’s SEO.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this course if you already have a bit of knowledge of SEO. You might be better off looking for other courses online.

This course is only valuable if you have zero knowledge about SEO.

Once you complete all the lessons, you can take the final certification exam. This will evaluate what you have learned.

If you get more than 75% of the correct answers, you will get a certification and several badges that you can add to your LinkedIn profile.

This is one question that people ask when looking for an online course. Is it the right training program for you?

Well, the simplest way to define EYH Academy is that it’s a digital marketing course. So, if you want to learn more about digital marketing, you should join it, right? Well, you’re wrong.

Though this should be an advantage, getting too much information when you’re a beginner can be a negative thing as well. This is especially true when you want to start things slow.

#2 Logging in can be challenging sometimes

One of the biggest issues that users have with HubSpot Academy is logging in. When you log in to your account from the main site, it can be a little challenging.

That is why as much as possible, you should not log out of your account. This is particularly true if you’re just going to open it again later. 

#3 Some instructors are too fast

One thing to keep in mind is that HubSpot Academy has a lot of various instructors. Unfortunately, some instructors simply talk too fast. 

If you’re a beginner who is still learning some of the technical words and jargon, you might find this a bit frustrating. The only solution to this problem is to replay the video.

So, should you join Expand Your Horizons  Academy?

In my opinion, the answer is yes. This is particularly true if you’re new to online business and digital marketing.

Their training is highly recommended because it is created for beginners like you. You’ll learn a lot of skills when it comes to online sales, branding, and social media.

In addition to that, the private community of EYH Academy is simply amazing. It’s filled with knowledgeable people that will help you improve your career in the digital marketing industry.

However, there is no guarantee of success because it still depends on how you implement the things taught and discussed in the course. You are still the captain of your ship, and it’s up to you how you’ll pave your way to success…

On the other hand, if you already have knowledge about digital marketing, you might be better off looking for another course.

This course will not help you improve your skills. 

So, here's what I think about its business opportunity...

Wanting to earn extra income is doable online but it does not come so easily and it is not something that you can have without putting extra effort into it.

As the name suggests, this course will train you about Site Structure. Basically, it helps you insert and understand the SEO related and associated with the structure of a website.

As time passes by, websites get bigger and bigger. You’ll add more photos, videos, blogs, and pages. 

Doing so can greatly influence the layout and site structure of your website. This will also affect the SEO built into the website structure. 

In this course, you’ll learn how to maintain online websites, gain knowledge on technical matters, and understand CMS. 

Course 6: Multilingual SEO Training

This course by Yoast is a high-quality training program that mainly targets people who speak various languages and come from various backgrounds.

In this course, you will learn how to research multilingual keywords as well as learn how to transfer content from one language to another. 

You will need around 8 to 16 hours to finish this course. It also has more than 120 minutes of videos. 

Course 7: Yoast SEO Plugin

This is perhaps the longest course of them all. In addition to that, it’s also one of the most difficult courses.

The Yoast SEO Plugin course consists of a lot of 2-minute videos that break down every single setting that you’ll find on the Yoast plugin for WordPress.

A couple of the features are great. Unfortunately, you need to watch all the videos to ensure you did not miss anything.

I also find this part of the program the weakest one. This is particularly true when it comes to presentation.

However, this is still an important course that you should not skip. This is particularly true if you purchase the premium version since it includes the Yoast Plugin.

Keep in mind that the Yoast Plugin is one of the best tools you can have as an SEO specialist. Thus, it’s always better to learn as much as possible about this tool.

Will You Get a Certification After Completing Yoast SEO Training?

One of the biggest features students look for when enrolling in a course is certification. The reason for this is that they can use these certificates when applying for a job.

Fortunately, Yoast makes it official with a certificate at the end of the entire process.

This is extremely useful, particularly if it’s your first time in the industry and you want something to prove that you’re knowledgeable.

Is Yoast SEO Training Really Worth It?

The Yoast SEO course is worth more than it costs. Because it not only incorporates teachings and user-friendly modules in pdf, and every module has its pdf download, its community has been fast expanding.

The pdf is not a rehash of the content found elsewhere on the internet (such as videos or articles) but rather a supplement to what can be found there.

In addition, their modules are updated on their blog if you can’t afford to pay for the training but still want some additional references.

Among the most notable changes in perspective reported by those who have participated in this course is a more open approach to content creation and delivery.

What makes Yoast SEO training legit?

You will never make a mistake if a course offers you credentials after completing it. Yoast makes it official by issuing a certificate after this process.

Especially if you have employees, having them undergo this procedure and have a certification on file is beneficial. Some copywriters completed the entire course, which was very helpful.

Yoast also gives unique badges to lend credibility to your website upon completion of these courses; however, they try to sneak in a backlink by requesting that you copy and paste code rather than downloading the badge image.

If you’re planning to get this course, I recommend that you immediately get the premium version. There’s no point in getting the free version at all.

As a student of this training program, you will get tons of information about SEO.

Unfortunately, you will still have to purchase tools if you want to apply the knowledge you’ve learned from the course.

To make things short, the SEO Playbook course by Robbie Richards is a solid training program if you are searching for advanced SEO knowledge. 

The training videos of the course are easy to follow and the quality is excellent. When it comes to the price, I would say that the course is worth the $1,000 price tag. 

If you’re the right person, you will find this course extremely valuable. This is particularly true if you’re having a hard time ranking your website on the SERP.

On the other hand, if you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics of SEO, I recommend that you skip this course and look for other courses online...

SEMRush Academy courses are flexible. You can watch the videos any time you want. It all depends on you. Aside from that, you can also stop or pause the lecture if you’re bored or you have to finish something.

Free

One of the biggest concerns about online courses is the fee. Luckily, SEMRush Academy won’t charge you anything.

Everything you find inside the learning platform is free of cost. 

You won’t waste money here. The instructors are legitimate and the content of each module is real. So, if you want to start your career in SEO but don’t want to invest a lot of money for an introductory course, the SEMRush Academy is your best bet.

High-quality content

Most of the users love the fact that SEMRush courses are high-quality and free. Because of this, students won’t have to worry about getting their money’s worth.

Instead, the only thing that you can waste in SEMRush Academy is your time. This is particularly true if you don’t like it.

However, it’s impossible to dislike this course. It’s free and the quality of the lessons is great. It’s best for both experienced and newcomers.

SEMRush Academy Cons

Limited coverage

You might be very disappointed if you’re looking for lessons other than digital marketing. Almost all of the lessons in the academy are for digital marketing only.

Extensive

SEMrush Academy’s teachings are exhaustive. This is seen in various courses, including SEO, content marketing, and competitive research. To be clear, the emphasis is on SEO classes. Even then, the courses are substantial.

You conclude a lesson by watching a three-to-six-minute video, reading some additional material, and taking a brief exam. That makes perfect sense.

The SEMrush SEO Toolkit Course comprises 14 modules and requires around four hours to finish.

The videos may become monotonous after some time. Several of them consist merely of a person sitting and speaking throughout.

Overwhelming lessons

The SEMRush Academy has a couple of courses and lessons on the board.

If you’re new, you’ll probably struggle with where to begin. There is a good chance you will be overwhelmed with all of these stuff.

Not good for advanced SEO

If you already have extensive knowledge about the basics of SEO, then this course will just be a waste of time for you.

This course is only for beginners. They’re ideal for people who have zero knowledge about SEO and digital marketing. 

If you’re looking to expand your skills and improve your knowledge, you might want to look for paid courses.

Boring videos

One of the biggest things I hate about this course was the videos. While some of them are interesting, most videos are just the instructor talking to the camera.

Unfortunately, I do not like this type of video. I get bored easily with it.

Fortunately, every video has a transcript.

So, if you get bored watching, you can stop the video and continue reading the transcript.

Also, since most of the courses are videos, you might find the course lacking practical training. There are no options for hands-on work.

In my opinion, I believe that the SEMRush Academy is worth your time. This is particularly true if you’ve got little-to-no knowledge about digital marketing and SEO.

SEMRush Academy provides a lot of important information about SEO and digital marketing. Aside from that, you can easily finish every lesson in less than an hour. 

Since it’s also completely free, it just makes SEMRush Academy one of the best learning platforms out there.

But then again, there is no guarantee of success because it is still up to you on how you are going to implement the things taught in the course in real life…

After clicking enter, it will give you a couple of results that are associated with DistilledU. The next step is to click the first result, which is distilled.net.

Once you’re on the homepage of Distilled, scroll down a little bit below and you’ll find a button saying “Get Full Account”.

Oftentimes, the lessons won’t load properly.

Sometimes, it will not register your inputs, which is extremely frustrating...

#3 No guarantee of success

The course is informative and no doubt helpful to your SEO career.

However, it doesn’t mean you’ll be immediately successful in generating huge income with it.

There is just no guarantee of success with this course.

My opinion - DistilledU

In my opinion, DistilledU is a great course.

Aside from being affordable, it is also very beginner-friendly. 

I recommend this training program if you’re new to SEO. Every lesson that you get from the first module will help you understand all the fundamentals of SEO.

Once you’re done with the first module, I can guarantee that you will not be a beginner in SEO anymore. 

Even if you already have advanced knowledge about SEO, this course can still be useful. The second module contains advanced lessons that will help you improve your skills and master SEO.

However, there is still no guarantee of success especially if you don't carefully follow and implement all of the things taught in this course.

It is still up to you on how you are going to make it in sprucing up your online business' visibility and passive income generation.

So, here's what I think about its business opportunity...

Wanting to earn extra income is doable online but it does not come so easily and it is not something that you can have without putting extra effort into it.

There are many credible online career opportunities that you can still explore and Detailed SEO Blueprint is clearly not one of them.

Always remember that scams are often disguised as opportunities. One has to stay vigilant especially if money is involved.
