They offer the potential for high returns, and they are relatively low risk.

However, what if you don’t know anything about investing in stocks? Well, you don’t have to worry anymore.
Nowadays, there are tons of available courses online that teach people how to invest in stocks. Some will teach you the basics, while others will teach you advanced strategies.
One of these courses is called “Investing in Stocks” by Steve Ballinger on Udemy. So, is it a worth-it course? Is Steve a legit instructor, or is it a scam?

According to its page, Investing in Stocks will help you Master Stock Market Trading and Investing. It will teach you how to have total confidence and understanding when investing in the stock market.
As of today, 176,524 students enrolled in this course. Thus, it’s safe to assume that it is an actual course, not a scam.

His profile also shows that he has a 4.4 out of 5 stars instructor rating. This means he’s quite a good instructor if he has that rating.
He also has more than 60,000 reviews and 48 courses on Udemy. In addition, he is also currently teaching 440,858 students.
He also claims on his profile that he is the number 1 personal finance and investing instructor on Udemy. However, that is only according to him and some of his students.
Some of the best-selling courses Steve offers on Udemy include “Investing Success: Learn Keys from a Millionaire Investor,” “Investing in Stocks: The Complete Course,” “Cryptocurrency: Complete Bitcoin, Ethereum, Altcoins,” and more.
Like any other online course, Investing in Stocks mainly consists of videos you can watch at your own pace.
However, if you follow the outline and pace set by the course, you can finish it within 14 hours.
Aside from videos, the course also contains three articles and a few resources. In addition, once you finish the whole course, you will also get a certification of completion.
One thing to note is that this is an introductory course. This means that there are no prerequisites if you want to enroll.
You can join this course even if you have zero knowledge about the stock market and investing.
As mentioned earlier, Investing in Stocks contains 14 hours’ worth of videos. The course is divided into 16 sections. Each section includes a couple of lessons. In total, you will learn 120 lessons.
The first section is simply an introduction to the course. It will introduce you to the stock market. In addition, it will also teach you how to get the most out of this course.
You can finish the first section in 23 minutes. It is pretty short. There is also a quiz at the end of this section. You can proceed to the next section if you finish the quiz and get a passing score.

If you’re lucky enough, Udemy often discounts its courses. Thus, it’s ideal to avoid buying this course at its original price. Try to wait a couple of days to see if Udemy offers a discount.
Some students even bought this course at a 90% discounted price.
Every month, Steve adds a new lesson to the course. These updates are added for free. So, once you purchase the course, you can get the updates without paying another fee.
If you don’t have any knowledge about investing or the stock market, don’t worry. This course is for you. It’s a highly beginner-friendly course that is ideal for new investors.
However, if you’re an experienced investor, you can still find this course helpful when improving your skills or learning new strategies.
And here are some of the things I find off in Investing in Stocks. So take note of these...
You might find this course a bit frustrating if you quickly get bored. The videos are just Steve talking about the lesson. Luckily, most of the videos are short.
As a beginner, you will probably find this course a bit overwhelming. It will teach you tons of information about investing in a short period.
I think 14 hours is not enough to learn the basics of investing.
Take note that there are tons of instructors on Udemy. Claiming that you’re the number 1 investing instructor on the platform is quite a stretch.
In my opinion, Investing in Stocks is a decent course. This is particularly true if you’re a beginner. It contains a lot of information and will teach you the basics of investing.
However, I would not recommend this course if you don’t like watching someone talk nonstop. In addition, most of the information you find in this course is free on YouTube and other platforms. So, if you don’t want to spend money, you can do your research.
