MLM vs Affiliate Marketing: Which One Is Better For You?

You probably know that Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) and affiliate marketing are two of the most popular ways for people to make money online or from home.

The main reasons are that you don't need any prior experience to start either and they are both low cost in comparison to starting a more traditional bricks and mortar business.

Both "opportunities" are legit but both do come with some scam artists trying to take your money.

And if you've ever spent any time on this website before you probably know what my preference is...

I don't only think that affiliate marketing is better than MLM... I believe it's a far superior business model.

However, I'm going to throw out my own biases for this battle and I've even chatted a couple of current successful MLM member to give this a fair fight (listen to that podcast here)

That way you can make an informed decision about what suits you.

Fair? I think so!...

What is Multi-Level-Marketing?

Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) can also be called network marketing, referral marketing, pyramid selling and many "direct sales" companies are really just MLM companies.

It's a business model where anyone can join the company to get the chance to make money by selling the products.

These "distributors" (also known as consultants, representatives or associates) can also recruit more people into the company to do the same thing. The people they recruit become their "downline" and it's possible to earn bonuses and commissions from the sales this team makes.

It ends up creating a pyramid structure like this:

MLM pyramid scheme

Typically MLM companies sell some sort of product or service. The most common products are related to health and wellness or personal care... such as makeup, protein shakes, supplements, CBD oil or shampoo etc.

In theory the business model is a win-win.

The company saves money on marketing and advertising costs...

And everyday people get the opportunity to work from home.

Pros and cons of MLM

Pros

  • Possible to make money from home
  • No need to create your own product or service
  • Work in a "team"
  • Personal development opportunities

Cons

  • Products are often expensive
  • Many MLMs have a monthly sales quota
  • Start up costs can add up before you even try it out
  • Pay for additional training and education
  • You're encouraged to sell to friends and family
  • Most people lose money (up to 99% of members)
  • People make money because other people lose money in your "downline"
  • Emphasis on recruiting people

Conclusion:

MLM companies can be a legitimate way to make money from home.

There is a strong emphasis on team building and helping the people in your team.

However, this actually means that the main way to make good money is by recruiting people to earn commission from the sales they make.

MLM products are typically very expensive in comparison to alternatives on the market. To "remain active" distributors often need to sell a certain amount each month or pay for products themselves.

This means that most people end up losing money in MLM companies.

Beware of pyramid schemes in disguise

Many people think that all MLMs are pyramid schemes.

That is not the case.

However, many MLM companies do sell products to disguise the fact that the only way their members make money is by recruiting more people.

Any company that has a focus on recruiting rather than selling is very similar to a pyramid scheme, and these are totally unsustainable as you can see in the diagram below...

Pyramid scheme

Check out this 5 minute video to learn how to spot a "pyramid scheme in disguise"...

However, there are some legit MLM companies out there too. They offer reasonably priced products and there are no monthly sales quota. Unfortunately, these are actually pretty hard to find!

Just check out the 3 case studies below to see the difference between legit companies and pyramid schemes in disguise...

Case Study 1- Pyramid scheme

MLM companies like this are the worst.

The ONLY way you can make money is by recruiting people into the company.

Prosperity of Life claims to offer "personal development" training that you can attend and make money from!

Prosperity of life

In reality, they just teach you how to sell this company to other people.

There's no real products that the company produces. You can sell the "personal development events" but the whole event is really a sales gig to try and make more people join.

It's impossible for everyone to make money through this type of MLM.

Case Study 2- "Pyramid scheme in disguise"

This is probably the most common MLM company that I have seen.

Pyramid schemes in disguise typically offer stupidly expensive products (100% or more above comparisons). Then they have a monthly sales quota that their distributors have to hit to "remain active".

Le-Vel Thrive will cost you $100+ a month to stay active as a distributor.

But you can only earn 20% commission for any products that you personally sell. So people can be hundreds or thousands of dollars out of pocket before they sell anything and then only make back $10-$50 from their sale.

There's a huge emphasis on recruiting and this is the only way you can realistically make any decent money from this type of MLM. Once you recruit 2 or more people you've effectively "passed the buck" down them.

Case Study 3- Legit MLM company

Farmasi claims to be a "direct sales" company but you can earn bonuses from your downlines sales. So it still is an MLM company in my opinion.

It only costs $19.99 to join and there are no monthly sales quotas to hit.

Farmasi MLM

The makeup is good quality and affordable. Distributors also make 50% commission from any sales.

This means the company genuinely offers products that people would be happy to promote (as it's good and affordable).

There is a focus on selling the products and it's possible to make money simply from doing that without recruiting anyone.

But how much are you likely going to be able to sell in person to your friends and family? If only there was a way to use the internet to sell for you 24/7...

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is earning a commission by promoting someone else's product.

Simply put...

Sell other people's stuff.

WA Affiliate Marketing 4 step Process

It really is a win-win...

  1. Companies or individuals create a product or service and save money on their marketing costs.
  2. Affiliate marketers promote the products or services and earn a commission of the sale.

You can become an affiliate marketer right now by joining affiliate networks for free, such as:

  • Amazon
  • Click bank
  • Commission Junction
  • JV Zoo
  • Shareasale
  • Walmart

In fact, many businesses or entrepreneurs will have their own affiliate program that people can join for FREE...

So if you find products that you like, you can share your "affiliate link" with people and if they buy something through your link, you make money!

It's possible to get paid 4-90% commissions depending on the individual product.

It sounds too easy, right?

Well that is an overly simplified version and you probably won't be able to get many people to buy products like this.

But the best affiliate marketers use a website to "drive traffic" to it and promote products to earn commission.

If these websites actually help people to solve their problem, then people will buy these products.

It's possible to create these websites that bring in hundreds of thousands of visitors each month for free... and they work for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Pros and cons of MLM

Pros

  • Free to start
  • Promote anything you want & genuinely help people
  • Possible to build a brand
  • Use the internet to sell for you 24/7
  • No recruiting
  • No limit to what you can earn
  • Learn skills useful for any business

Cons

  • Takes time and effort to learn how to do it well
  • There are so many options it can be hard to choose your "niche"
  • You need self motivation to be successful
  • No control over the products prices or quality

Conclusion:

Affiliate marketing is a way to make money by promoting other people's stuff.

But because it's completely free to become an "affiliate marketer", many people try affiliate marketing and don't make any money.

The best affiliate marketers build a website that helps solve problems and attracts thousands of visitors every month.

This way the business grows over time.

Plus, the skills you learn from affiliate marketing can be used to help any business in the 21st century.

MLM vs Affiliate Marketing

Tonight, we are going to witness the most anticipated match in the history of online businesses for the heavyweight championship of the world!

Entering the ring wearing navy blue is...

Affiliate marketing!!

And the opposition wearing teal blue is...

MLM!!

Let's get ready to ruuuumbbbblllllle...

Round 1- Start up costs

It's claimed that you can start either business opportunity for next to nothing. In fact, the initial cost to join most MLM companies is under $100.

They do however, often recommend you buy a product pack so that you can test the products or use them as samples to sell to others.

This can set you back anything from $50-$1,000.

There are also often monthly sales figures to hit and if you don't reach that then you will need to pay for the products yourself. This is usually around $50-$200 a month.

However, it's possible to start affiliate marketing for free. Any legit affiliate marketing opportunity is free to join.

There are even ways you can build websites for free. Watch this short video to see how.

And it's possible to learn how to build an affiliate marketing business with all the training and tools you need from scratch for as little as $30 a month.

Winner- Affiliate marketing

Round 2- Choice of products

MLM companies provide certain products or services.

If you join a company you can only sell their products to people. There are often terms that state that you are only allowed to work for one MLM company at a time, especially if you're thinking about joining another one in the same industry.

These products are often very expensive and you can easily find better alternatives for a fraction of the price.

With affiliate marketing you can choose anything.

Honestly... anything!

If you have a passion about sailing you can create a website specifically to help people with sailing. If you recommend certain products or information that could someone solve a problem, then you can get paid for this over and over again.

You are complete control over what you promote.

Winner- Affiliate marketing

Round 3- Selling style

The real way that MLM distributors make good money is when they "build a team". This sounds great to many people as most people don't want to do business by themself.

But what this really means is that you need to recruit people into the MLM company.

So you're going to need to ask all your friends and family and once they reject you, you'll be taught how to put your life on social media to try and attract new unsuspecting victims.

Many MLM companies still encourage "home parties" where you invite friends over and show them how good your products are.

Affiliate marketing is all done online.

That means you provide real value to people on your website and never need to sell face to face. Some people are put off by the thought of having to write a lot.

But the beauty is that you can do this at your own pace and build your website over time... it doesn't disappear.

I used to hate writing but like anything else, it's a skill that you can improve on in time.

If your business is not on the internet then your business will be out of business- Bill Gates

Winner- Affiliate marketing

Round 4- Personal development

Most MLM companies are quite big on this.

Many of them will have live events around the world for you to attend (it does cost more money mind you!)

But if you've never been to an event like this, it can spark a fire inside you that you never knew was there.

Most MLM members encourage each other to read self development books and continue to improve.

There are events like this you can attend for affiliate marketing such as FinCon or Affiliate World Conference. However, many people try to do affiliate marketing all by themself.

Without the support it's very easy to avoid personal development or connecting with people regularly. MLM takes this round!

Winner- MLM

Round 5- Skills learnt

As already touched on, affiliate marketing can teach you crucial skills that every business needs in the 21st century.

Learning how to market online is useful for anyone.

Helping your website be found on Google (SEO), copywriting, email marketing and social media marketing are all skills that you can learn and improve, whilst building a business with affiliate marketing.

Every business in the world needs this. You can either market the skills you learn to make money from freelance work as your business grows or use these skills to build your own mega future business.

MLM companies rarely come with any training to improve these skills.

You're really only taught how to be on social media all the time to try and attract people into asking how you make money... then bam! Recruit, recruit, recruit!

Winner- Affiliate marketing

Round 6- Income potential

There are far too many people earning mega money from affiliate marketing to even know.

I have personally spoken to 5 people on the podcast who make over $1 million a year (and they were all 30 or younger and not even the real big fish of the industry).

The big reason for this is due to the previous round... they have learnt skills that they use to create a mega business.

It's possible to create a growing passive income as once you put the work in once your website can get found every single month by more and more people.

It is possible to make some great money from MLM companies. But you will always be a cog in the wheel (unless you create your own MLM company!)

The most I have seen anyone make from an income disclaimer is around $1,000,000 a year (and we're talking about millions of people that are in MLM companies).

Winner- Affiliate marketing

Final Score: MLM 1 vs 5 Affiliate Marketing

The downside to both businesses...

So this is the side that not many people will tell you about.

There are so many people out there trying to sell something or suggesting they have the answer to help you make millions of dollars overnight.

To be successful in either one of these business models is going to be hard.

It will take time and effort and you will have a LOT of setbacks along the way.

The reason I know this is because it's happened to me (and pretty much every other successful entrepreneur I've spoken to or read about... not that I'm putting myself in the same category as them, but I know I'm on the path to get there).

This is the reality...

Startups- Trough of Sorrow

And many people just get so caught up on one thing...

The truth is, it's going to take time to see the money.

Yeah you can see a little bit of success just for proof of concept.

In fact, you can go to Amazon Associates right now, get a free account and send the link to a book you know your Mom wants to buy to her.

Once she buys it you get a commission... boom!

Real Money! (it will be like $0.23 so don't go quit the day job)

But here is what actually happens...

Startup success graph

I know I haven't "made it"... in fact, I would say I'm just about coming up out of the trough.

But I have to be honest, the speed at what this scales is even frightening me!...

MLM vs Affiliate Marketing: who wins?

So yeah, as I already told you...

I am biased.

But hopefully you can see why now.

There are just some reasons why affiliate marketing wins by a country mile in my opinion:

  • You control the business (you are not restricted to the products you promote or what niche you choose or what you "duplicated website" looks like)
  • The skills you learn can provide you with a mega business (like never have to work another day in your life stuff)
  • You don't need to recruit people or sell to your friends and family

I know people that do well from both.

I can't say that I would be comfortable selling overpriced products to people or recruiting them knowing they are becoming another cog in the wheel.

But I know one thing for a fact...

Doing the same thing will get you the same results.

Action takers always win.

Affiliate Marketing vs MLM… From Someone That’s Tried Both w/ Christina Piccoli

You probably know that an online business is a great way to live the lifestyle that you would love.

It means you can work anywhere in the world, work anytime you want and have the potential to make money in your sleep.

A common question that people have is...

Should I start an MLM business or is affiliate marketing a better option?

Maybe you haven't even heard of one of these types of business models.

The truth is, there isn't one way that is "better" than another. But there certainly are advantages and disadvantages of any business model.

Podcast Summary

So Christina is completely honest about her personal experience with both.

Here are the 5 main takeaways I took from the chat with her:

  1. MLM distributors are typically the main customers for the company because of the "monthly sales quota"
  2. MLMs are not ideal for introverted people who don't use social media very much
  3. You never need to sell anything to your friends and family with Affiliate Marketing
  4. You can promote and work on any interests with affiliate marketing rather than being tied to a certain type of product
  5. You can grow your affiliate marketing business over time and to any level you'd like

But at the end of the day taking action is far more important than spending ages considering which approach suits you.

Just by trying something out you will learn if it suits you or not.

Either business model can help you to live a life that you want, but doing the same thing over and over will guarantee you get the same results.

Farmasi Review- Fraud, Legit or Just Another Recruitment Company

You have probably found this page because someone has shown you a “work from home” opportunity called Farmasi.

Farmasi Review

Most people would love to make money from home so that they can live their life on their own terms. Especially if they can do that by using and selling makeup!

However, this is often just a pipe dream for most people.

Yet Farmasi promises to be an opportunity that could help you genuinely live this dream.

This Farmasi review, with videos, will show you exactly what the company is about with the pros and cons of joining so that you can make an informed decision if it's right for you.

Farmasi Review

The overview and rankings

Name: Farmasi

Founder: Dr. C. Tuna (90 out of 100)

Website URL: farmasius.com

Type: Personal Care & Beauty MLM

Products (Including Pricing): 85 out of 100

Success Stories: 30 out of 100

Price To Join MLM: $19.99 one time fee & no monthly sales quotas (99 out of 100)

What To Look For In An MLM:

  • Low start-up fee & maintenance cost
  • High-quality affordable products
  • You don’t have to carry inventory
  • An affiliate-like system
  • Generous compensation plan
  • Company is in the early momentum phase

Farmasi Pros

  • Early momentum phase
  • Long history outside the USA
  • Affordable good products
  • Low cost to start
  • Focus on selling products (not recruiting)
  • No sales quota

Farmasi Cons

  • Low income potential
  • It's an MLM
  • Competitive market
  • Farmasi review complaints
  • Confusing returns policy
  • No internet marketing training

Summary: Farmasi is one of the best MLM opportunities that I've seen in the USA currently as it's still in the early momentum phase. The affordable good quality makeup and 50% commission structure means the "beauty influencers" focus is on selling products rather than recruiting people

The issue is the low income potential. Those influencers that can use internet marketing to help scale the business could do very well.

Make Time Online Rating: 76 out of 100

What is Farmasi?

Farmasi is a personal care and beauty company that sells a wide range of products including makeup, fragrances and shampoos.

It claims to also offer a “direct selling” opportunity to people who would like to earn an income from “selling Farmasi’s products”.

So it’s possible to become a beauty consultant and make a living from this at home.

Check out the 4-minute YouTube video below to have Nicole explain a bit more about the company…

As you continue to read this Farmasi review you will find out that Farmasi is really a Multi-Level-Marketing company (this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just important to be aware of this!)

First of all, let’s clarify the difference…

What's the difference between direct selling & MLM?

Direct sales is a business model where independent “contractors” sell the companies products to other people. They typically earn a commission from doing this.

Multi-Level-Marketing is exactly the same thing.

However, the difference is you can also earn a commission from recruiting more members beneath you (in your “downline”).

Both models are completely legit and legal.

However, pyramid schemes are not...

Is Farmasi a pyramid scheme?

No, Farmasi is not a pyramid scheme.

If you become a beauty consultant with the company you are encouraged to sell and promote the products that Farmasi offers.

In fact, with a massive 50% commission on anything you sell, it’s certainly possible to make decent money just from selling Farmasi’s products.

What is a pyramid scheme?

A company that promises payment to their members for recruiting more people into the company.

Technically pyramid schemes do no sell any products or services. These are totally illegal in most countries because they are unsustainable as you can see in the diagram below...

However, some MLM companies are pyramid schemes in disguise.

They use a “product or service” to make it look like they are selling something legitimately. Although, the only real way people can make decent money from the company is by recruiting other people.

This short video explains what to look out for to avoid pyramid schemes…

Success is rare with Farmasi

The truth is success is rare in all MLM companies.

Did you know that between 73% and 99% of all MLM representatives lose money?

MLM FTC Fact Stat

Not every MLM company is equal though.

As Farmasi is still pretty new to the USA there are no income disclosures released yet so it's hard to tell if this is the case for them.

But the income disclaimer does suggest that the average revenue generated will only be $500-$2,000 a year.

Time will tell how many people are successful with Farmasi.

How does Farmasi Work?

Farmasi sells a range of beauty and skin care products.

They offer everyday people the opportunity to make money by selling these products to earn commission or recruit people into the company to earn bonuses.

This means that Farmasi saves money on marketing and advertising costs.

It's kind of like a win-win!

Farmasi products- Skintrends, foundation & cosmetics

Before you jump into any MLM company it's important to fully understand what products they promote.

Here are the main product categories on offer with Farmasi:

  • Dr. C. Tuna- foot care, oral care, skincare, haircare, aloe vera, baby
  • Makeup- body, face, lips, eyes, nails
  • Fragrance- for men and women
  • Accessories- bags, for hair, facial cleanser
  • Personal Care- hair care, cleansers, soap, health
  • Men- body wash, fragrances, moisturisers
  • Christmas- bag, box, fragrance, makeup

There is a range of prices but the majority of products range from $5-$50.

The vast majority are under $20 (and this is the retail price… you'd get 50% off if you are a beauty consultant!)

Farmasi products

The above screenshot shows the main categories of products on offer at Farmasi.

Click here to see all the products with the information and prices on offer at Farmasi.

This is quite a similar range of products to other MLM companies out there such as BellameSeneGence and Young Living. The thing that stands out at Farmasi is that the price is very affordable!

But what else can give it the edge over the competition?...

Farmasi flagship products

So as you can see there are a lot of products offered by Farmisi!

But there's not really one product that stands out as their main one. This could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Some MLM companies use one "flagship" product to stand out such as nail strips. It can be useful to stand out in a crowded market but it can also be quite gimmicky and often they are not great products.

Farmasi products

Here are some example retail prices of popular Farmasi products:

  • Liquid Lipstick: $11.90
  • Gel Cleanser: $14.90
  • BB Cream: $15.90
  • Foundation: $22.90

If you’re like me, then you probably jump on YouTube to find out more about the products and see what people are saying about them.

You can find loads of YouTube videos, but here is a pretty good one with a handful of products being reviewed in one go…

It’s about 11 minutes long but you can skip your way through to get an idea!

One of the BIG selling points is that Farmasi is originally a company from Turkey.

So it has to adhere to European standards which means there are no harsh chemicals that are often put in makeup in the USA.

How to make money with Farmasi

This is probably the main reason you are on this website right now.

So let's not hang about...

There are 2 ways you  can get paid as a Farmasi beauty influencer:

  1. Sell products and receive a commission
  2. Recruit people into the company and earn bonuses from your "downline" sales

Before we dig into the compensation plan, you're probably wondering...

How much does it cost to join Farmasi?

It costs $19.99 to become a beauty influencer and get your starter kit.

There are no monthly fees or a “sales quota” that you need to hit to stay active as an influencer.

That. Is. It.

$19.99 one time fee.

Simples.

Beauty influencer is the same as a beauty consultant, distributor, rep etc.

Farmasi monthly cost

Unlike a lot of MLM companies there are no monthly fees or sales quota that you need to hit to remain active.

But you can try out some products and receive product packs with extra discount compared to normal...

What is in the Farmasi USA Kits?

Here are the costs of the 4 Farmasi USA Kits…

Starter Kit- $19.99

  • Welcome letter
  • Dr C Tuna guide English
  • Dr C Tuna guide Spanish
  • FARMASİ opportunity brochure
  • Catalog English 2 PCS
  • FARMASİ Catalog Spanish 3 PCS

Product pack- $49.99

product pack

Activation product pack- $125 ($340 Worth of Products)

Welcome product pack- $200 (Over $500 Worth of Products)

You must buy the starter kit to become a beauty influencer. But you do not need any of the expansion packs.

However, you do receive over the 50% discount for any of the additional packs.

You can see all of the products that are included in each expansion pack in the video below…

Farmasi compensation plan

PV means Personal Volume
GV means Group Volume
100 points is roughly $200 worth of retail price products (or $100 with your 50% off as a beauty influencer)

Typically a direct sales model is pretty simple.

It’s a commission that you get paid every time you make a sale of a product (in this case the whopping 50% commission).

However, this is the part that really proves Farmasi is, in fact, an MLM company.

There are 7 ways to get paid to be exact:

  1. Personal sales (50% commission)
  2. Online sales (50% commission from online sales)
  3. Welcome program (incentives to receive free products within your first 4 months)
  4. “Building your team” program ($40 bonus when 2 members join your team and each accumulates 125 PV within one month)
  5. Personal bonus (extra % bonus for your downline sales)
  6. Group bonus (extra % bonus for your teams sales)
  7. Leadership bonus (extra BIG bonuses for your downline sales and your team getting promoted)

So you DO get paid to bonuses from recruiting other members and the sales your “downline” makes.

*Again note- it’s not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, you’ll get paid MORE money with this model. But it is important to realise Farmasi is NOT just a direct sales model like they claim.*

This 5-minute clip will explain how you start earning 50% commission

This 9-minute video below explains how you get paid by building your team and from PV & GV bonuses really simply… I’d highly recommend watching this one! (Use x2 speed if you’re in a hurry)

This 11-minute video below goes into the deep dive of the leadership model. It’s confusing and you really don’t need to worry about this when you are first starting (maybe pin this page for later to come back to this video).

You can find the full Farmasi MLM Compensation Plan here.

So this Farmasi review shows the opportunity is starting to sound pretty exciting right?

Now, I can almost hear your mind asking…

Is Farmasi a scam?

The short answer is no.

The longer one will follow in this Farmasi review…

Farmasi clearly delivers on the products that it offers and it does provide a legit opportunity for people to work from home.

There are no crazy claims that you’ll be able to make thousands of dollars by clicking a button. The website is very open and honest about what to expect as a Farmasi beauty consultant.

So let’s dig in a bit deeper to find out if it suits you in the rest of this Farmasi review…

Just to be fully transparent with you, I am not a Farmasi distributor myself and I do not endorse Farmasi in any way.

I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. What I like about Farmasi

There are pros and cons to every business opportunity.

So here are some of the things I like about Farmasi…

Key Terms:

  • Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from referring others to the service rather than providing a product
  • Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
  • Red Flag - A warning sign

#1 Farmasi is on the rise

This is, without doubt, the number 1 reason why Farmasi may be a good business opportunity currently.

It’s only moved to the USA since the start of 2019. If you were to get involved now, you could still be an “early adopter”.

Just look at the increased interest on Google in this last year…

This is compared to 3 other relatively big MLM opportunities that I have previously reviewed in a similar market:

It’s still not as widely searched as Arbonne, but it is certainly on the rise very quickly and could possibly catch up with them soon.

You can see how Arbonne and SeneGence have already been through their early momentum phase and how big that spike can get.

#2 Farmasi longevity

The concern about new companies or start-ups that are rising like Farmasi is that they will fizzle out and die this time next year.

However, the Farmasi brand was born in 2004 and has been part of Dr. C. Tuna’s work since the 1950s.

Farmasi Review

It has a track record in 125 countries worldwide, but it has only just moved the opportunity to the USA!

There are also many positive Farmasi review’s online from other countries.

#3 Affordable products highly rated

You see so many MLM companies that offer insanely high priced items that anyone with half a brain cell would just search for on Amazon and buy them for a fraction of the price!

However, Farmasi is (again) different from other MLM companies here.

The products are mainly under $20 retail price (or 50% less if you are a consultant).

Farmasi MLM Pyramid Scheme

There were also no tests done on animals and no animal-derived ingredients were used to make any of the products.

Farmasi Review

I’m going to be totally honest with you here…

I have no idea if that is normal or not…

But a quick Google search proved that there are still 30+ makeup brands that test products on animals in 2019… including L’Oreal (even I have heard of them!)

#4 Low cost to start

The low price of $19.99 to become a consultant means that if someone is planning on spending $40 on makeup in the rest of their life, then they may as well become a consultant (as this will save them money in the long run!)

Even if they have no intention on ever promoting the products to anyone else, they get a 50% discount just by becoming a beauty consultant!

That is very affordable and reasonably priced!

#5 Focus on selling products instead of recruiting (50% commission)

There are so many MLM companies out there which are really a pyramid scheme in disguise.

They use some random-ass products (such as a water filter system, motivational speaking, or crazy overpriced health products) to make it seem like they are legit.

However, the ONLY way you can possibly make any money from them is by recruiting people into the company.

Farmasi, on the other hand, offers such reasonably priced products and a great commission structure.

Farmasi MLM Pyramid Scheme
Farmasi MLM Pyramid Scheme

Now, I’m again not the best person to know this as I don’t personally use makeup!

But I know for a fact my wife spends a LOT of money on makeup and smelly things… all the time! And she tells me she doesn’t spend as much as many of her friends on it!! (Somehow she believes that makes it acceptable!)

So let’s say you recommend the products to 3 friends who buy $500 worth of makeup (honestly I still don’t get it!… the great thing is that if someone does just want to spend $5 then they can as there are no minimum order limits)

You would pocket a tasty $250.

That’s a whopping 50% commission and you can get bonuses the more you sell!

#6 No monthly sales quota

This is again another huge pro for Farmasi compared to many MLM companies.

You don’t need to set up a monthly standing order to make sure you stay active. You don’t need to accumulate a load of inventory and need to buy an extra house just to store it.

Simply sell what you sell and continue every month.

What I don't like about Farmasi

There are some hidden truths to the company and some areas that you really need to be aware of before diving in.

These can make the difference between making $100 from Farmasi and being able to work from home and use it as a business.

#1 Low income potential

In the Farmasi Income Disclaimer, they don’t have any figures to provide in the USA… yet!

So they have provided some information about how much beauty influencers should expect to earn on average…

The average annual gross revenue for Entrepreneurs is projected to be anywhere between $500 and $2,000. Please note: These numbers do not reflect the expenses associated with building an Farmasi business, which could exceed the commissions received.

This is hardly a “quit your job and work from home” amount of money that you can expect to earn from Farmasi then.

It is also important to consider that some influencers will receive much more than $2,000 per year.

This means that the majority of people should not expect to earn $2,000 a year as a Farmasi Consultant.

#2 The Truth about MLMs

study by the FTC found that 99% of MLM recruits lose money.

The same study revealed that 95% of MLM recruits quit within 10 years.

FTC MLM Fact

Obviously, Farmasi claims to be a direct selling company, but when you peel back the truth, you are actually rewarded by recruiting other members. Hence, it's an MLM.

If you can use Farmasi more like an "affiliate marketing" business model and get visitors to your website using the internet 24/7 then it could be possible to make some great income from here.

Plus, you could also promote other products or monetise your website in different ways.

But if you try to sell the products in person to your friends and family and host "Farmasi parties" you'll be lucky to make more than $20 a month.

#3 Competitive market

The beauty industry is not short of competition.

There are thousands of brands and companies trying to “break into” the market all the time.

However, there are a select few brands that tend to dominate the market consistently.

Make Up

Even though there is a lot of competition, the beauty industry is a $532 billion industry. So if Farmasi can establish themselves in the USA, there is clearly plenty of money in this market.

#4 Farmasi review complaints

Despite Farmasi only existing in the USA since the start of 2019, there are already some complaints from former beauty consultants.

Farmasi Review
Read more on SiteJabber

It sounds like the customer service needs some work and there appear to be some conditions on purchasing certain products.

Hopefully, this is just standard teething issues for any business and these complaints are addressed.

#5 Confusing returns policy- this will be an issue

Farmasi’s return policy has the potential to become a sore spot for customers and beauty influencers in the future.

Farmasi Review

The company is still too young to be reviewed on the Better Business Bureau (BBB). However, I expect to see numerous complaints about this returns policy in the future.

Even after reading the policy it is unclear what their returns policy actually is.

It appears the influencers are expected to offer full refunds, but the company itself only offers 80% refunds.

Unless this is cleared up on their sales pages, people will be miffed (English word for annoyed) if they return their products within 30 days and don’t receive a full refund.

#5 No internet marketing training

Just because Farmasi gives you a ready-made website and you can earn commission on their products, it does not mean you OWN an online business.

Mentor

Here’s the truth…

If you don’t use online marketing for your Farmasi business, you have really just paid $19.99 to get a Farmasi booklet.

If you want to make good money from Farmasi, then you’ll need to learn how to use the magical internet to sell for you… 24/7/365.

Ready to make passive income online with Farmasi?

In 2018 I had no idea how to make money online. I was a full time PE teacher with no marketing skills or online experience.

I fell for scams along the way but I've managed to create a growing passive income online.

The techniques I've learnt are transferable to any online business and can even help to start a beauty website to promote Farmasi products.

Mike Beatty

My opinion - Farmasi

I genuinely think this is the best MLM type of opportunity that exists in the USA right now (in 2020 and beyond).

This is mainly because:

  • It’s in the “early momentum” phase
  • The low priced products (which seem pretty good)
  • No monthly fees/ needing to hold inventory
  • And the really good compensation plan (50% commissions!! Plus bonuses!)

I am not a Farmasi influencer because I do not live in the USA and it doesn’t exist in the UK (yet).

However, if you just join Farmasi from any old beauty influencer, you are likely to fall into that 99% of MLM recruits that don’t ever make money.

This is a legit opportunity, but only for people that can use online marketing.

How I make passive income online

MLMs are not scams or illegal. However, I'm not a fan of them because of the restrictions to the products you have to promote.

Once I learnt about affiliate marketing, I realised it's a far superior business model because:

  • You can promote anything you want and truly own the business (including Farmasi products as one income stream)
  • You never need to sell to friends and family
  • It's completely free to start

In 2018 I had no idea what affiliate marketing was.

But I went from a full time PE teacher to making a passive income online within one year...

Mike PE teacher to Passive Income Online

If you want to discover how I did it then check out this special video I created which explains exactly how.

What Is Amare Global?

Amare Global is a Multi-Level-Marketing company founded in 2016 by Hiep Tran and Shawn Talbott.

It markets a range of mental wellness and nutritional products.

The 11-minute video below provides an overview of what the company is about.

Watch on x2 speed if you’re in a hurry!

The companies products are supposedly completely backed by science.

Before we dig into that let’s learn a bit more about the management of the company. This is where you can tell a lot about a company as it offers the transparency required to trust an MLM business model…

Who is Amare Global’s CEO?

Hiep Tran is Amare Global’s CEO.

I couldn’t find any information on Hiep in having any MLM experience, but he was the co-founder of a company in 2008 called Meritus.

It was quite a big card payment business which got acquired by Optimal payments in 2014.

Tran worked very long hours and managed to help build the business, but it took a toll on his health and subsequently he resigned in 2016.

It’s a big reason why his focus is now on Amare Global, which helps with mental wellness.

But he is not the only one running the show…

There is a whole team of “executives” at the company. One person that features a lot in the promotional videos and the research of the products is Shawn Talbott.

You can find out more about Shawn later on in this Amare Global MLM review.

For now, let’s find out…

How Does Amare Global MLM Work?

So you already know that the Amare Global MLM company sells and promotes a range of health and wellness products.

But how can you benefit by joining the program?

Similarly to most MLM companies, there are 2 main ways you can make money:

  1. Sell their products and earn a commission
  2. Recruit more people to join the MLM program

So let’s dig into their products a bit more…

Amare Global Probiotics & Products

There are many products on sale but one of the most popular items is the Amare Global Probiotics.

Here’s Shawn Talbott to explain the science behind the products…

As you can see their key selling point is that Amare targets the gut, the brain and the connection between the two (the axis).

Every product at Amare is designed to improve mental wellness and our bodies physical energy by providing essential nutrients and include:

  • Probiotics
  • Sleep tablets
  • Energy drinks
  • Tablets for focus
  • Digestion tablets
  • Protein powder
  • Vitamins for fiber, omega and superfoods

The individual products range in price from $22-$70.

You can buy any product individually but it works out cheaper to buy a pack (if you are looking to get more than one product).

Here are some of the most popular packs that are on sale at Amare:

  • FundaMental Pack ($134.95)
  • Launch Pack ($849.95)
  • Family Wellness Pack ($459.95)
  • Core Wellness Pack ($188.95)
  • Kids FundaMental Pack ($119.90)
  • Project B3 Pack ($274.95)

You can find the full list of Amare products here.

How To Make Money With Amare Global MLM

This is the part that you are probably most interested in.

As already mentioned you can make money in 2 main ways:

  1. Commission from selling the products
  2. Commission from recruiting more people into the MLM program

So let’s find out exactly…

How Much Does It Cost To Join The Amare Global MLM Program?

There are 2 types of membership to join Amare.

1. Amare Global Preferred Customer- $24.95/ Year

  • 25% Off on retail product prices
  • Get free products when you refer other people as customers.

2. Amare Global Wellness Partner– $69.95/ Year (or $849.95 for the launch pack)

  • 25% Off on retail product prices
  • The chance to earn more commissions with the company’s Compensation Plan.
  • Business starter kit, systems, and tools (includes website, app and back-office).
  • Need to sell 100 PV (personal volume) every month to stay active

There is also the launch pack for $849.95, which has over $1,600 worth of products including samples, brochures and products.

If you choose this option the $69.95 joining fee is waived.

Amare Global MLM Compensation Plan

Here’s an interesting fact about MLM companies:

They “obfuscate” (make something deliberately more difficult to understand) their compensation plans to make them seem really complicated.

It’s hard to say exactly why they do this but some people argue it’s to hide the fact that you make most of your money by recruiting people into the company.

All you need to know about Amare Global’s compensation plan is:

  • The 25% commission comes from the 25% discounted price you get from their products. E.g. you get $25 commission from selling a $100 product.
  • You get bonuses and commission from your “downlines” making sales.

Here’s an example of the “me and 3” bonus commission:

Amare Global MLM Compensation

If you have recruited 3 people and they continue to make their 100 PV sales each month you get a bonus.

If they sell additional products each you can get a larger bonus.

6 Additional Ways To Make Money With Amare Global

Here are the 6 additional ways you can earn money from the Amare Global MLM program:

  1. Personal customer volume bonus (5-15% bonus commission when you sell more than 500 PV in a month)
  2. Heart start bonus commission (bonus on products sold in your first 60 days as a “Wellness partner”)
  3. Me and 3 Bonus (as above)
  4. Unilevel residual commission (bonuses from your downline… see screenshot below)
  5. Revenue bonus pool commission (extra commission when you “move up the ranks” in the business)
  6. Go forward infinity bonus commissions (if you reach the top 3 ranks in the company you get more commission!)

The important aspect to consider here is that you can get paid “7-levels deep” form your downline. This is what often attracts people to MLM businesses as this is how the “passive income” is generated if you can build a strong team around you.

You can access the 20-page Amare Global’s compensation plan here. Or you can watch this (pretty long) video which explains it in more detail…

Watch on x2 speed if you’re in a hurry!

Now, I can almost hear your mind thinking…

Is Amare Global a Scam?

No. Amare Global is not a scam.

There are two main ways an online course can be a scam:

  1. Take your money and run off into the sunset, never to be heard from again
  2. Provide some information but it doesn’t live up to their promises

Amare Global clearly offers legit products and it also provides a business opportunity for people to make money from home.

Is this the right opportunity for you?

The rest of this Amare Global MLM review will help to answer that question.

Just to be fully transparent with you, I have not purchased this program myself and I do not endorse it in any way.

I have researched the website, testimonials and information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what this program genuinely does. This is because I have been burnt from programs just like this in the past and I want to prevent others from making the same mistakes. Is The Amare Global MLM A Pyramid Scheme?

Technically no.

Amare Global is not a pyramid scheme because it’s possible for the wellness partners to make money from selling the products.

They can make money from recruiting people to the MLM program but it’s not the only way to make money.

What Is A Pyramid Scheme?

A pyramid scheme is when a company recruits members by promising them payment for recruiting more members.

Technically there are no products sold or any other ways for recruits to make money other than recruiting more people to join the company.

The issue with this is… eventually the world will run out of people that can join!

It’s actually surprisingly sooner than you may think too!

Diagram from Wikipedia

As you can see just by recruiting 6 members each the world’s population is not enough to cope with a 13-level company!

…and most pyramid schemes require you to recruit more than 6 people each to make any decent money!

Check out the 5-minute video below to learn how to spot and avoid a pyramid scheme…

Watch it on x2 speed if you are in a hurry!

Amare Global MLM: The Good

Here are some of the things I like about Amare Global.

Key Terms:

  • Black Hat Methods – Using lies and unethical methods to make someone buy something
  • White Hat Methods – Being honest and genuine to help people make informed decisions about purchases
  • Pyramid Scheme – recruits members via a promise for payment from referring others to the service rather than providing a product
  • Affiliate Marketing- Connecting a customer to a product they are looking for and receiving a commission for doing so
  • Red Flag – A warning sign

#1 Still Relatively New and In The Momentum Phase

This is the biggest reason that Amare Global is potentially an interesting opportunity right now.

The company started in 2016 and as you can see in the chart below, the trend is still rising for the number of people searching for Amare Global on Google.

It has stopped rising so steeply but it is possible to get into the company during the momentum phase when people are still interested in it.

#2 Commissions Of 25% Isn’t Bad For MLM’s

You receive a 25% commission from your sales of the products as this is the discount you receive from the company as a Wellness partner.

Amare Global MLM Review

As you can see above, it is possible to charge your own price as long as the price is above the wholesale price (the price you would pay for the products).

#3 Good Reviews Of Amare Global’s Products

It’s clear that some people really like the products.

Amare Global MLM Review
Amare Global MLM Review

Obviously you have to take all Facebook reviews with a pinch of salt but there are a number of different sources that suggest they like the products.

Amare Global MLM: The Not So Good

Here are some of the bad parts of Amare Global that you should be aware of before jumping into the business opportunity…

#1 Expensive Products That Are Hard To Sell

This is the number one reason you should be wary of the company.

Amare’s Probiotics, Prebiotics and Phytobiotics cost $66.95
Well-Rated Probiotics and Prebiotics cost $30.08 on Amazon

It’s possible to find very similar products for a fraction of the cost.

Yes, Talbott makes the Brain-Gut-Axis “science” sound like they have a unique selling point. But in reality, people want to receive these types of products at the most affordable price.

#2 MLM’s Have An Emphasis On Recruitment

The elephant in the room!

To make good money from this MLM opportunity you will HAVE to recruit more people into the company.

There are different ways to do this, but when you start out you won’t have any proof the business model works.

Yet, you’ll still need to convince people it’s the best opportunity since sliced bread if you want to make serious money.

Some people are great at selling and love this side of it.

However, many people that become a partner are not aware how much of this they will need to do to make good money.

#3 Shawn Talbott’s Shady History & Lawsuit

The FTC shows that Shawn was caught up in a $4.5 million lawsuit for a previous MLM company (Cortislim).

Shawn and two other guys were alleged to have made some exaggerated claims about their products to try and sell more in “infomercials”.

With this information, re-watch the video of Shawn at the top of this page and see if this could be a repeating pattern.

It doesn’t have an impact on Amare Global, but it is something to be aware of.

After all, do leopards ever change their spots?

#4 The Truth About MLM’s: Only 1% Make Money

Another report from the FTC shows quite a shocking stat.

99% of MLM recruits lose money!

As mentioned earlier there are some people that are just great at selling.

They could probably sell anything even if they don’t have experience or proof. However, without the right training or understanding selling, the majority of people hate doing it. And are typically pretty bad at it!

This is the reason why a tiny per cent of MLM recruits make jaw-dropping money. And the rest end up losing money.

#5 Crowded Market

Amare Global is not the only health and wellness MLM company. Here are a few others I have reviewed to give you an example:

Optavia, MONAT, Farmasi and Ariix

Health Products

Many of them sell similar products and you can see that some of them are much more affordable (check out Farmasi if you’re interested in these).

#6 Ongoing Costs (100 PV)

Yes, the $69.95 annual price tag makes it seem like Amare Global is pretty low cost to get involved with.

You may even be thinking… it may be worth a punt for that money.

Amare Global MLM Pricing

However, it’s not the total cost you will need to keep in mind.

You need to sell 100 PV every month to stay active with the company.

I have honestly tried to find out how much that translates to in real terms. But the compensation plan, products sales page and most other reviews seem to hide (or just make it unclear) how much PV you get from selling each product.

Judging by other MLM companies you will need to sell around $100-$150 of products every month just to stay active.

So unless you make these sales guess who needs to pay for them to stay active?

Yep… you will!

So particularly at the start, you are likely going to need an extra $100+ every month (but don’t worry they set up a direct debit for you so you never forget!)

My Opinion – Amare Global MLM

It’s a legit company and the products seem pretty good.

However, with the monthly costs to stay active and the fact that you can find very similar products for a fraction of the cost, I don’t think this is an opportunity worth starting.

If you had a bunch of friends that were looking for an opportunity like this and love their “vitamins and nutrition” then you could quickly get a team set up around you.

However, if you’re like me, you probably don’t want to abuse your relationships and to sell to your friends and family about some “great opportunity”.

Therefore, I only see this as a good opportunity for people that know a lot about nutrition and are good salespeople.

Is There An Alternative?

It wasn’t that long ago that I was still trying to figure out how it’s possible for people to make money online.

I wanted to find a passive income system that ticked a few boxes:

  1. I could work on part-time when I wanted (I was still in a full-time job)
  2. Therefore I needed it to not cost a fortune to start and maintain
  3. Didn’t need me to sell stuff to my friends and family

It was in September 2018 that I found Wealthy Affiliate.

In September 2019 I quit my full-time job.

The best thing about it is:

  • It’s free to start (no credit card details are required)
  • You are taught how to get qualified traffic brought to you for free (just think about how you found this review… there was no money or time spent from me promoting this!)
  • Get support from hundreds of thousands of other online marketers
  • You don’t need ANY technical skills to start (I certainly didn’t… I was a PE teacher!)

When you try out this program you will see why so many people recommend it.

Amare Global MLM Review: The “MakeTimeOnline” Final Word

So there you have everything you need to know about the Amare Global MLM opportunity.

It’s completely legit and they clearly have some products that people like.

However, is it the right opportunity for you?

    What Is ARIIX?

ARIIX is an MLM company based in Utah offering health and wellness products.

It is different from other health and wellness MLM’s due to the high number of products and range of brands it offers.

Most MLMs focus on selling their own products.

ARIIX carries a range of brands for recruiters to sell!

The below 3-minute video is one of ARIIX promotional videos that explains more about the MLM program…

If that’s got you interested, it’s time to dig in a bit more about the company…

ARIIX was founded in 2011 by a team of 9 people!

The CEO of ARIIX is Fred Cooper, and the President of the company is a Mr. Mark Wilson.

You can find out more about the executives here.

It’s also important to know more about the…

    So you’re probably wondering…

    How Does ARIIX Work?

So ARIIX clearly provides a huge range of products to its customers.

    Ariix Review

But how can you benefit from the company?

How To Make Money With ARIIX

Most MLM companies are very similar.

There are 2 main ways to earn money as a member of the MLM program:

    1. Make a commission from selling their products
    2. Recruit other people into the MLM business and get bonuses and commissions

First of all, let’s work out…

How Much Does It Cost To Join ARIIX?

There are 9 packs you can buy to become an MLM representative or distributor:

    1. Nutrifii Member Pack – $421.36 (discounted to $294.95) – includes 5 products
    2. Slenderiiz Plus Member Pack – $428.50 (discounted to $299.95) – includes 5 products
    3. Nutrifii Business Pack –  $749.95 – includes 15 products
    4. Slenderiiz Business Pack –  $711.95 – includes 10 products
    5. Jouvé Business Pack –  $749.95 – includes 25 products
    6. Business Pack 500 –  $789.95 – includes 13 products
    7. Slenderiiz Elite Pack –  $1,388.95 – includes 21 products
    8. Elite Pack – $1,414.95 – includes 43 products
    9. Ultimate Pack –  $2,098.00 – includes 63 products

The price varies so much and it really varies what products you will get with each pack.

To be honest, when you are trying something out you should always go for the cheapest option to test the waters and see if it’s “for you”.

However, the representative trying to sell it to you will probably advise a much higher one “so that you get the best products and it will make it easier to sell something.”

Translated that means “they get more commission the more you spend”.

    But it doesn’t end there!…

To stay eligible for commissions, you have to accumulate a sales volume of 100PV per month.

In real money terms that is $148 every month. If you don’t sell that… you need to buy it!

Oh and there’s also a $25 annual renewal fee.

    1st year at ARIIX = $294.95 + $1,776 + 25 = $2,095.95

    • If you sell products you won’t need to pay the whole $1,776, but you will likely be asked to set up an auto-renewal for this amount every month, so you stay “active”.

    ARIIX Compensation Plan

Ahhhhh!! MLM Compensation plans… why do they have to be confusing?!

Oh yeah… because if it’s confusing, you don’t really know what it all means so you willingly join into a company even though they only pay you good money if you recruit other people (aka pyramid scheme).

Oops… did I just say that?

ARIIX’s compensation plan does you no favours in trying to get your head around it.

So I’ll do my best to explain it in plain English by ignoring the complicated terminology such as PV’s, Unilevel, Binary and Matrix…

It’s also known as “Activ8” and you get paid in 4 ways:

    • Retail commissions – You buy products at wholesale price. Sell it at a higher price (retail price). Your profit here is the retail commission.
    • Commissions for signing people up – Get commission for getting other people to join AND buy something! You don’t get a commission for someone joining the company… only on the stuff they buy and manage to sell (that’s the whole PV thing).
    • Team lead bonus – A special kind of bonus which you’ll get from customer and member sales in their first month. The higher your rank (or their enrollment package), the higher your team lead bonus is. Hence, why recruiters encourage you to buy a more expensive pack!
    • More bonuses – The Activ8 compensation plan offers a whole list of bonuses that you can claim by meeting certain conditions.

You can find a quick overview in this 3-minute video…

The $10,000 in your third month bit made me laugh! You only need 84 people to sign up… with a perfect ratio of 4 per person!! pffff…

If you want the nitty-gritty and up to date compensation pack to understand it more then check out this 15-minute video…

Watch on x2 speed if you’re in a hurry!

Or just check out their compensation plan right here.

    Is ARIIX a Scam?

    Technically no…

There are two main ways an online course can be a scam:

    1. Take your money and run off into the sunset, never to be heard from again
    2. Provide some information but it doesn’t live up to their promises

They certainly do provide legit products.

And you certainly can make money from the MLM program.

Will you be able to quit your job and earn $10,000 in month 3? Very debatable.

The rest of this ARIIX review will show you the pros and cons to fully answer “is ARIIX a scam?”

Is ARIIX A Pyramid Scheme?

    Again technically no.

You only get a commission when someone joins AND buys something (which they have to do to join the company!)

You can also make money by purely selling the products.

However, will it be much money?

    Absolutely not.

Maybe enough to cover the insane $148/ month fee… if you’re lucky.

Here’s some more clever marketing by ARIIX explaining how to join a company…

    Hold up…

    ARIIX: The Good

Here are some of the things I like about ARIIX

#1 Good Support & Training- Business Orientation System (B.O.S.)

One thing that MLMs don’t often provide is the training required to get started.

It’s often left down to the person you join with to help you out and that varies… a lot!

ARIIX uses BOS to make sure you start on the right foot.

Check out the first 3 minutes of the video below to see what’s included…

There are 9 online modules to help you get your business up and running:

    1. To Connect to Company module- learn administrative tasks such as how to manage your backstage website & who to contact
    2. Know your company module– meet the leaders
    3. Know your products– as above section
    4. The module on knowing your vision– set your goals
    5. Know your industry module– learn about the health industry
    6. Know how to invite– learn how to ask people if they are interested in joining
    7. 10 Communication skills module– how to communicate with customers and potential leads
    8. Generate leads- how to find people interested in joining
    9. Campaign module – Select videos/ presentations to send our prospects

Not bad at all for an MLM!…

    #2 Diverse Line of Products

The huge range of products means you are not stuck only on one set of people.

For example, some MLM companies only offer skin care.

Some only offer nutrition stuff… some only offer water filtration services.

    Ariix Products

ARIIX offers so many different types of health products that you can probably find something that everyone uses.

Therefore, everyone in the world has become a potential customer!

That’s not always a good thing though as you will find out later in this ARIIX review…

#3 Multiple Ways to Earn- Compensation Plan

The compensation plan is more confusing than trying to do you 13 times tables whilst doing a handstand with your feet stuck to the floor.

However, there are so many different ways to get bonuses.

The majority do involve recruiting people initially.

But if you can recruit a good little team you may find bonuses popping up every month, without even expecting them!

    Ariix Compensation Plan

    Will you have complete control?

    Is that a good thing?

    Only you can decide…

    #4 FDA-Approved Products

The products are regulated and have plenty of certifications.

    Is Ariix A Scam

You can be sure the products are safe to be selling to the masses!

#5 Positive Ariix Reviews About Products

You can even find some amazing reviews about ARIIX products.

    Some people even saying…

    Amazon

You can tell the products are legit when you find real people leaving reviews like this.

    Ariix: The Not So Good

Here are some of the things I don’t like about Ariix that you should be aware of…

    #1 90% Make Under $15k a Year

Check out ARIIX’s income disclosure statement.

As you can see from the table below over 50% of ACTIVE representatives make a weekly average of $70.

    Is Ariix A Scam

If you look at the statement it shows the average yearly earnings was $2,025.62 for ALL representatives.

Do you remember reading earlier it will cost you $2,095.95 for your first year?

Translated, that means the average recruiter is about $70 out of pocket every year.

Note some of these would only be active for one month or a day, but it really paints to picture.

Especially when you consider some people are earning over $1 million a year!

That really means the vast majority of consultants would be losing money!

#2 MLM’s Are Encouraged To Recruit To Make Good Money

This is just a given for MLM programs.

If you don’t like selling things that you aren’t sure works or not, then this gig isn’t for you.

To make a full-time income from this you will HAVE to recruit people.

The thing is you’ll need to recruit people before you have any proof the MLM program is any good or works for yourself.

    #3 Negative Ariix Reviews

There are a lot of negative reviews for ARIIX online.

Here are some of the common themes people complain about…

    Ariix Review
Only a few people benefitting from the company
    Ariix Review
Complaints about owners or other recruiters

It doesn’t leave a good representation of a company when you see numerous reviews with “terrible owners” or “ARIIX is a pyramid scheme” and the likes.

    #4 Saturated Market

Here are a few other health and wellness MLM programs I have reviewed before:

    Health Products

These are by no means the only health and wellness companies either.

There is a lot of competition in people trying to sell similar products.

Without some unique selling point or a better price, there is really no way to stand out in this crowded market.

#5 Expensive Cost To Stay Active

This is probably the biggest concern for me.

There’s no way you should have to fork out $148 a month to stay active in ANY company.

I trawled their website for products and the cheapest 100PV I could find cost $154.

I’m sure there’s something you can buy for $148 as explained in the compensation plan (remember they do have a lot of products).

    Related content:

    My Opinion – ARIIX

It doesn’t stand out compared to other health and wellness products and it costs too much to join and stay active.

Yeah sure, you could probably sell a couple of shampoos to your Mom and your best mate.

But if you really want to make serious money from the company you are going to have to try and recruit them.

Chances are, they will resent you for it.

If you want to make any MLM work, then realistically you need to learn how to market online.

That way the magic internet can sell for you 24/7/365.

    • There’s support from hundreds of thousands of other online marketers
    • You don’t need ANY technical skills to start

If you really wanted to be an ARIIX recruiter, the training you learn here would actually help you… massively… and that’s how you get to be in the 1% of MLM recruits who actually do make serious money!

When you try out this program you will see why so many people recommend it.

ARIIX Review: The “MakeTimeOnline” Final Word

    So is ARIIX a scam?

    Absolutely not.

Is it an easy way to quit your job and work from home?

    No.

To be successful with an MLM program you are going to need to learn how to use online marketing to help you.

      • Offers the guaranteed lowest price for travel

      • It’s an MLM!

      What Is iBuumerang?

iBuumerang is a travel Multi-Level-Marketing company that offers a discount to people booking holidays.

It also offers everyday people the chance to earn money by promoting their travel discounts and recruiting more people into the business.

This is what their website claims:

Here at iBuumerang, you throw out good will and savings and you get rewarded with a travel savings bonus in cash!

Basically, give something away that’s good and good things will come back to you.

      Like a boomerang… or karma!

      iBuumerang Review

First of all, let’s just clarify…

      What Is A Multi-Level-Marketing Business?

They are businesses where recruiters help to promote the business to receive payment themselves.

MLM’s typically pay people in 2 ways:

      • Commission from selling the products (this case is the discounted travel)
      • Recruiting more people into the MLM business

We’ll dig into this later in this iBuumerang review but first of all…

      Who Owns iBuumerang?

The owner speaks a lot about any business. So it’s a good idea to have an idea of who the boss is of any company before diving in. Their morals and work ethic can help show the direction a company will go in.

      Meet Holton Buggs…

You can check out his 10 minutes “motivational speech” to see more about the man himself…

I’d suggest watching this on x2 speed if you really want to see it- Yes it is linked to iBuumerang!… but it’s a bit fluffy

There’s no denying the man clearly has charisma. But that’s certainly not everything to look for in a business owner!

Just so you know, here are the rest of the iBuumerang corporate team in case you want to check them out:

      • David Manning — President and CEO of Xstream Travel
      • Terrance Gray “T.Gray” — VP of Business Development
      • Mark Kithcart — VP of Marketing
      • Peter Hirsch — Chief Giving Officer of the Büüm Foundation
      • Lori Speers — Director of Travel Services

For now, let’s just dig into Buggs’ background as he’s the man running the show.

      Holton Buggs History:

      • Born in Florida in 1972
      • Aged 14, he began cutting hair and selling candy to make some pocket money
      • He figured he could make a profit by buying candy in bulk and getting his friends to sell the candy… sometimes paying them with haircuts! (sounds like an MLM already!)
      • Then he attended Texas Southern University with a football scholarship… but injured his leg
      • Holton created a successful furniture business but found himself in $250k debt in 1999 due to the change in the economy
      • Enter MLM’s… sketchy CyberWize to be exact
      • That one was no good so enter… Your Travel Biz aka YTB International (a travel MLM… hmm sound familiar?)… it turned out to be an illegal pyramid scheme
      • In 2010 he joined Orgao Gold and was making $1.3 million a month by 2013
      • In 2018 Organo Gold partnered with a blockchain company Digital SkyNet… but they were linked to a scammy cryptocurrency MLM, IQ Chain… oh and Buggs was put in charge of the blockchain stuff!
      • Buggs got out in late 2018, but his reputation took a hit (and a hefty fee in a lawsuit… keep reading this iBuumerang review to see more)
      • He started iBuumerang in March 2019 and did $20 million in sales within the first 6 months.

If you read all of that, you probably agree he is one resilient man… surely a Buggs film will be released one day!

He’s had many setbacks and failures but he’s found a way to succeed!

You’re probably wondering how iBuumerang is any different to previous failures and pyramid schemes, like YTB.

So let’s dig in a bit more, shall we?…

      How Does iBuumerang Work?

      It’s as easy as 1,2,3…

      How Does iBuumerang Work?

      The idea is nothing new.

You send your friends (or people) to iGo booking engine (which is run by  Xstream Travel), they book their holiday (at a discount)… you get paid!

      Simple right?

      So what are the actual…

      iBuumerang Products (Boomerangs)

      It’s again really simple.

      You can send discounts for:

      • Flights
      • Hotels
      • Rental Cars
      • Homes
      • Timeshares
      • and more…

      Some examples are below…

      iBuumerang products

As you can see the price of the hotels and rental cars are pretty heavily discounted.

In fact, there is also the “lowest price guarantee” that iBuumerang offers!

      That’s pretty good right?!

      So you’re probably wondering…

How To Make Money With iBuumerang MLM

There are 3 main ways that you can get paid in iBuumerang which are:

      • Referring Customers that Book Travel
      • Current Team Members That Book Travel
      • MLM Referral Commissions

The first one is the most obvious and I will let Denise walk you through how to do this in the 3-minute video below…

Walkthrough of exactly how you send Boomerangs and make money

Basically you send a code to a friend and you get a commission if they book a holiday through it.

They save money. You make money.

      Win-win.

Starting to sound quite exciting right? Now, I can almost hear your mind thinking…

How Much Does It Cost To Join iBuumerang MLM?

There are 3 global packages that you can also upgrade with

      • Coach Class Package – This package will cost $250 and then $49.95 per month and get you 10 Boomerangs
      • Business Class Package – This package will cost $500 and then $99.95 per month and get you 25 Boomerangs
      • First-Class Package – This package will cost $1000 and then $99.95 per month and get you 50 Boomerangs

There are different bonuses to each package but the main one is you can receive more commission for each package you buy.

But, do you remember Denise explaining how you have a certain number of Boomerangs you can send?

Well, there are 3 ways you can get more Boomerangs:

      1. Upgrade to a higher membership level (as above)
      2. Buy more individual boomerangs (the cost isn’t listed yet)
      3. Recruit other iBuumerang members

This leads us nicely onto the…

      iBuumerang iDecide- Online Marketing Software

iDecide makes iBuumerang a bit different to most MLM programs because it helps you do a few things:

      • Send out iBuumerang information to more people (about the MLM business and the discounted products)
      • Track who is interested and who is not interested (including when someone is watching the video)
      • Add contacts to automatically send emails to people interested in joining the MLM program or become a customer

The 4-minute video below, by Mike Healy (not me!), walks you through exactly what the iDecide software does…

Seeing this video may make you realise how powerful this software could be.

      So let’s dive into…

      iBuumerang Compensation Plan

First of all… every MLM compensation plan is confusing! So I’ll keep this as simple as possible.

Remember, your first job as an iBuumerang affiliate is to help people save money on travel!

Saying that, there are 6 ways you can make money from iBuumerang:

      1. Referred Travel Bonus – The first way is to directly refer someone to Xstream Travel. You’ll receive 25% of the commission as a “referral bonus” if the customer buys something here.

      2. Travel Savings Bonus (TSB) – You earn money when you send a Boomerang and direct someone to the iGo travel portal. This can be confusing so I’m just going to use an example of referring a friend to help:

      • Normal trip price = $1,000
      • iGo offer = $700
      • Total savings = $300
      • Your friend (customer) gets 50% of the saving, meaning the total cost of the trip is $700 + (50% of $300) = $850
      • If you are coach class you receive 50% of their savings = $75
      • If you are Business/ First Class you receive 100% of their savings = $150

      Simple right?… sort of!

      3. Fast Start Bonus (aka Direct Sales Bonus) – Commission for recruiting new iBuumerang distributors ($20, $40 or $80 for a coach, business or first class recruit)…

      4. Dual Team Bonus (aka Residual Commission) – You earn 10-20% bonus of your “weakest leg”.

      iBuumerang Binary 2 legs
      iBuumerang commission Dual Team Bonus

iBuumerang uses a “binary” commission structure so the people you recruit can build “teams” under them.

I told you it can get confusing!

All you need to know is you get bonuses from your team’s efforts.

      5. Unilevel Commissions – Paid monthly based on your personally enrolled recruits’ earnings. You can earn an extra 5-10% on 7 “levels deep”.

      6. Leadership Development Bonus – If your personal recruits achieve a higher ranking you get another bonus…

Right, it’s getting confusing now isn’t it?

Well, here’s Mike again to explain the compensation visually with the old school whiteboard!

You can find the full 20-page iBuumerang compensation plan here.

      How To Cancel iBuumerang

You can contact iBuumerang to cancel at any time.

You do need to watch out for the loopholes though…

       Terms and Conditions:

TERM: Notice of cancellation must be received ten business days before your Monthly Anniversary Date in order to avoid charges for that month.

      But beware!!…

SUBSCRIPTION DATE: If your join date falls between the 26th and the 31st of the month, your Subscription date will automatically become the 25th of the month even though the system may show your Subscription date as the 26th, 27th, etc., it will run on the 25th.

If you need support directly from iBuumerang you can use their website or via email: support@ibuumerang.com.

      Is iBuumerang a Scam?

No, iBuumerang is not a scam…

There are two main ways an online course can be a scam:

      1. Take your money and run off into the sunset, never to be heard from again
      2. Provide some information but it doesn’t live up to their promises

Even though iBuumerang does provide legit products and is not a scam, it doesn’t mean the opportunity is right for everyone.

The rest of this iBuumerang review will show you the pros and cons of joining.

Is iBuumerang A Pyramid Scheme?

There are some things to watch out for when you join an MLM program.

The 5-minute video below explains this perfectly…

iBuumerang is technically not a pyramid scheme as you can make money by saving people money on travel.

However, the big money comes when you recruit more people into the company.

It’s important to be aware of this before you join.

      iBuumerang: The Pros

Here are some of the things I like about iBuumerang…

#1 New MLM With Increasing Interest

iBuumerang is still in the “momentum phase” of the business. It only started in March 2019 so it won’t be oversaturated with recruiters… yet!

Here it is on Google trends compared to another MLM review I’ve done.

This means it’s still going to grow and there’s potential to find people interested in joining before everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

#2 Holton Buggs Is A Recognised Industry Name

This is a big reason why iBuumerang started so well.

      via GIPHY

      iBuumerang Holton Buggs

Holton Buggs got the company kickstarted by using his contacts and MLM connections.

He certainly knows a thing or two about MLM companies so hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes!

#3 Travel Is Popular, High Value + People Save Money!

Who doesn’t want to go on holiday?

Who doesn’t wasnt to find a bargain?

You should be able to find loads of people that would love to see the discounts offered by iBuumerang.

It does after all offer the…

      #4 Guaranteed Lowest Price

This is a huge selling point!

If you know someone who wants to go on holiday or travel with business, then you can simply say…

“I can get you the lowest price guaranteed”

      iBuumerang Price Guarantee

It’s a bold claim with all the travel companies that now exist.

But they offer a 110% refund on the difference between a cheaper deal you find compared to theirs.

(The bit I’m not sure on and can’t find out is whether this is the “iGo price” or the final price the customer pays… remember they only get 50% of the discounted price)

#5 iDecide To Help You Promote iBuumerang

It’s been discussed in this iBuumerang review already but the tools with iDecide could make this MLM opportunity stand out.

The features do look pretty amazing to make sure you only target people interested and you don’t need to become that annoying person that leaves people feeling like…

      via GIPHY

      iBuumerang: The Cons

Here are some of the bad parts of iBuumerang that you should be aware of before diving in…

#1 High Ticket Travel- Not Available to Everyone

      Travel is still a luxury.

People may only travel once a year or maybe 3-5 times max.

It’s not something that people do every other week!

      iBuumerang Review
      $4,000+ For All Inclusive Holidays

Seriously just think about how many people you think you know that could benefit from this and you are comfortable enough telling them about.

Let’s say it’s 100 people (I know my number is less).

So let’s just say that 70% decide to buy through your link.

Imagine they all “happened” to book a holiday worth $3,000.

Even with these outrageously generous numbers, you would be looking at a commission of around $31,500.

You wouldn’t be paid regularly for that and you need to factor in your costs to join (this is working off the first-class commission).

      $1,000 + $99.95 x 12 = $2,199.40.

That leaves you with under $30,000 profit for a year. Is that enough for you and your family to live off and allow you to work from home?

      #2 Founder’s Shady History

I want to believe that Holton has gained a lot of experience and lessons.

But you know what they say… a leopard doesn’t change its spots.

Holton Buggs has been linked to previous MLM scams including CyberWize and Your Travel Biz International.

He’s also been found guilty in 2019 of stealing trade secrets and distributors from another MLM and ordered to pay over $3 million in damages.

Do you really think he’s just packed in his sneaky techniques for good?

#3 Very New With No Track Record- Not BBB Accredited

The company is still not recognised on Better Business Bureau (BBB).

      iBuumerang Review

However, there are already 2 complaints about the company, that the public cannot see yet.

#4 Similar To Previous Failed MLM’s

The CEO of Xstream (who iBuumerang is partnered with) has been linked to other travel-based MLMs in the past such as The Vacation Network, TraVerus Global, and Paycation.

They have all disappeared and failed!

Watch a bit of the clip below by David Manning…

Does Paycation seem familiar to you too?

Have these guys really learnt their lesson, or have they found a way to make a quick buck then duck out?

#5 Is It Just A Pyramid Scheme In Disguise?

This is always hard to tell with MLMs as it’s only possible to make decent money by recruiting other members in 99% of MLM programs.

Is the offer at iBuumerang just so good that other people will want to join?

Or is it just a very well disguised pyramid scheme?

      #6 Negative Online iBuumerang Reviews

Online forums such as Reddit show what people who have tried the company think about it…

      iBuumerang Review

As you can see there is pressure added to people to put their friends on a list and try to get them to join.

I don’t know about you, but personally I’m not a fan of abusing my trust and relationships with friends and family to try and make some money.

There’s only one thing that you’ll become known for if you try this for too long.

      #7 The Truth About MLM’s

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released a report a while back that did extensive research into hundreds of MLM programs.

      Here was the big finding…

      MLM FTC Fact Stat

99% of MLM recruits actually lose money!

Yes, you probably know someone that has a fancy car and made loads of money from an MLM program.

But, chances are you know many people that have tried them before… and lost money! They just don’t tell you about it!

      Related content:

      My Opinion – iBuumerang

There’s only one type of person that should even consider this as a business opportunity…

      Travel bloggers.

If you get a lot of traffic to your website already then you may be able to offer the discount to “targetted and interested” people every day without having to try the “hard sell”.

Of course, you could make some commission by telling your Mom and best mate about it before they book their next holiday.

But chances are they have zero interest in joining the MLM program.

The only way to make consistent and good money from iBuumerang is to either have thousands of people every month see your discount… or to recruit many people into the MLM program.

The lowest price guarantee is great… but it’s not enough.

      Is There An Alternative?

If you really like the sound of iBuumerang there is something you will HAVE to learn about to make any decent money from it.

      Online marketing.

You need to the internet to work its magic and help you sell 24/7/365 to be successful in any MLM.

However, iBuumerang (or the majority of MLM’s) won’t teach you about that.

Just take Mike Healy (the guy in those videos above) as an example.

He’s using the power of the internet through YouTube to market iBuumerang all day every day.

He understands how important it is to work for his business.

      My Online Marketing Story

It wasn’t that long ago that I was still trying to figure out how it’s possible for people to make money online.

I wanted to find a passive income system that ticked a few boxes:

      1. I could work on part-time when I wanted (I was still in a full-time job)
      2. Therefore I needed it to not cost a fortune to start and maintain
      3. Didn’t need me to sell stuff to my friends and family

It was in September 2018 that I found Wealthy Affiliate.

By the end of 2019, I quit my full-time job.

It has helped me learn how to get targetted visitors to my website every single day (I had no idea how to build a website in 2018… I still don’t know techie stuff like coding!)

And just look at the rate it is growing…

      Visitors from Google each month

If you have any interest in joining any MLM or making money online to free up your time then Wealthy Affiliate has everything you need in one place.

iBuumerang Review: The “MakeTimeOnline” Final Word

There you go, everything you need to know about the opportunity is in this iBuumerang review.

It’s a legit MLM program with a great offer:

      Lowest travel prices guaranteed.

But unless you know how to market the opportunity using the internet, you will join the 99% of MLM recruits that lose money.

Cash Website Success Pros and Cons

        Pros

        • Shows a legit method of making money online (affiliate marketing)

        Cons

        • Old scam… new name
        • Fake news stories
        • Fake testimonials
        • Black hat sales tactics
        • Just promotes another scam

What does Cash Website Success do?

To be totally honest… not much.

It simply is a sales funnel that will then promote another version of this online scam that has been going on for some time now.

The sales video will start off with some guy called Chris that was fired and ended up stumbling across this awesome Make Money Online opportunity that he’s now going to share with you.

How would you like to make $500 a day just by pressing a button?

Yeah, that is actually something the video claims you will be able to do!

This is probably making you wonder…

What is Inside Cash Website Success?

The big claims are not really lived up to, unfortunately.

You will simply find more sales pages for more similar online scams.

        Money Sucking Websites Review

The picture of Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos seems to effectively lull people into the lies and promises that the scam continues.

The scheme is really just a way to get hold of people’s contact details (which they can sell on) and more importantly their money, with some bold promises that nothing online can live up to.

Now I can almost hear your mind asking…

Is Cash Website Success a Scam?

Yes, Cash Website Success is a scam.

There are two main ways an online course can be a scam:

        1. Take your money and run off into the sunset, never to be heard from again
        2. Provide some information but it doesn’t live up to their promises

Not only does Cash Website Success not provide any real training other than the brief mention of affiliate marketing, they certainly do not live up to their promises of making you $500 a day by clicking a button.

Cash Website Success: The Hidden Truths

You may be wondering… well how do you know this is a scam? To be honest it’s exactly the same as some previous scams that I have already reviewed on this website.

Yet they continue to rebrand it and re-release it.

Here are the big 5 hidden truths that really exposes it for what it is.

        #1 Old Scam, New Name

The reason I have been so to the point on calling this scam out so quickly is that it’s just a carbon copy of previous online scams (click any of the below reviews to find out more):

        Cash Website Success Comparison

Can you notice a difference in the websites above?

Yet supposedly they are two completely different programs.

If this isn’t a warning sign then I’m not sure what is.

Any legit online course wouldn’t need to rebrand itself…

        #2 Fake Testimonials

One of the things about the sales video is that there are real people claiming the website works.

That makes it really hard to ignore. If you’re like me you probably thought… “maybe this does work then”…

        Cash Website Success Review
        Testimonials on the sales video
        Fiverr Paid Actors
        Hired actors on Fiverr

        But no!!

They are not real reviews at all, but some words an actor is reading out!

People actually use websites like Fiverr.com to get paid for reading out “anything” someone wants them to on camera.

Bit fishy eh? Surely lots of real people would be shouting the benefits of this amazing system that makes you $500 a day with the click of a button?!

        #3 Black Hat Sales Tactics

Not only does the video use lies and fake testimonials they also use more lies when you are considering purchasing the system.

It’s quite common for online marketers to use “scarcity tactics” to make people make a decision, but they should only be used in truthful or ethical ways.

For example, some online courses will only open for a week every year. After that week the course won’t open until next year. So if you want the course you need to act that week.

However, Cash Website Success claims you only have a few minutes to purchase. They claim you’re getting a 76% discount and they say there are only a few spots left.

All of these claims are lies.

Simply refresh your screen or check again tomorrow and you will get the same offer! This is called black hat sales tactics and is not necessary to make people buy something online. People should make informed decisions about their purchases.

#4 The Truth is in the Privacy Policy

I couldn’t help but laugh at this part…

        Cash Website Success Privacy Policy

The truth is even written on the website.

“Based loosely off a true story but been modified in multiple ways” aka made up from other people’s random success online.

“There is never any guarantee of earning profit or avoiding loss” aka you won’t make $500 a day from clicking a button!

#5 Fake News Stories… Used Out of Context

This is again part of the black hat sales tactics.

They have used a completely irrelevant news story to make it seem like you are joining an Amazon “work from home” opportunity to make money from home.

At no point does the reporter mention Cash Website Success or any of the other scams.

It’s like taking a really skinny person and claiming your “special milkshake” will make someone lose weight in 10 days, even though the skinny person has never seen the milkshake before.

Yes, people do make money online.

But the news story is not related to Cash Website Success at all.

        Related content:

My Opinion – Cash Website Success

It’s an outright scam that needs to be shut down immediately.

It is totally unfair that real people are being led to believe that it’s possible to make hundreds of dollars online with a click of a button.

Pulling them in by using pain points like not spending enough time with their family or having enough money each month to pay their bills or to be able to go on vacation is totally appalling.

Anyone who wants to make a better life for themselves should be informed about real opportunities, not fed these lies.

        Is There an Alternative?

It wasn’t that long ago that I was still trying to figure out how it’s possible for people to make money online. I’d fallen for some pretty terrible online scams, but had yet to lose too much money.

I was willing to work hard and I wanted to find a legit way to make money online, but it needed to tick 3 boxes:

        1. I could work on when I wanted (I was still in a full-time job)
        2. Didn’t cost a fortune to start and maintain
        3. Didn’t need me to sell stuff to my friends and family

It was in September 2018 that I found Wealthy Affiliate. In September 2019 I quit my full-time job.

The best thing about it is:

        • It’s free to start

When you try out this program you will see why so many people recommend it.

Cash Website Success Review: The “MakeTimeOnline” Final Word

As you can see from this Cash Website Success review, it is an outright scam.

It won’t provide you with any legit training. It just puts you into another sales funnel and tries to sell you more online scams.

However, it does open your eyes to a legit way to make money online… affiliate marketing.

Using the right system to learn this is crucial to your success online.

          Make Money Online Benefits

You probably know there are loads of benefits to making money online.

          Here are some of them:

          • Your earnings are unlimited (you can scale your earnings online much easier than in a physical business)
          • It gives you the potential to quit your job (and make time form working online!)
          • Provides flexibility (work any time you like)
          • Allows you to work anywhere in the world
          • Reduces expenses (it can become a hobby to replace other expensive hobbies such as shopping)
          • You can start earning money online part-time (no need to quit the day job to start)

The benefits are endless especially if you make money online in a way that can scale and is passive income.

Now, I can almost hear your mind asking…

          Is Making Money Online Easy?

          Yes and no.

Yes in the sense that you can literally sign up to online paid survey sites right now. By clicking that link you can get paid bonuses just for signing up and then earn more money by filling out some surveys.

They are all completely free to join too (if a survey site is not free to join it’s likely a scam!)

However, if you are looking to make passive income online it will take longer than some people will tell you.

Are the skills hard or difficult to do?

          No.

Does it take time to learn the skills you need and set things up to make it passive income?

          Yes.

          What Is Passive Income Online?

The definition of passive income can change depending on who you ask.

The definition of passive income online here is:

Put the work in once and get paid over and over again for it. It also requires a little effort to maintain it.

The best example I can give for it is…

If someone tells you it’s possible to make passive income by clicking a button and watching the money roll in… it’s a scam.

If they say you can just do the work once and you’ll make money from it forever… they are lying.

It is possible to make passive income online, but it’s important to be aware of what this means in reality.

Therefore, this post explaining ways to make $1,000+ a month online is different to many others that you will find…

Make $1,000 A Month Online Ratings

There are so many ways to make money online but they are not all equal.

The rest of this article will show you numerous ways that everyday people are making $1,000+ month.

But it will also provide a ranking for 5 different areas so that you can quickly see what approach suits you.

Each rating is a score of 1-5 with 1 being the lowest or easiest and 5 being the hardest or highest.

          Difficulty

The difficulty rating just means how difficult it would be for you to start making some good money from the make money idea.

It takes into account the time you would need to put in and the skill level required.

A score of 1 means you could start making money very quickly and easily.

A score of 5 means it would likely take you some time to make money from the idea as you would need to learn some more skills on the way.

          Skill Level Required

This is the rating that may put you off.

However, none of the skills needed in this article is rocket science.

Every real example you will see from someone making money in that way has learnt the skill either by themself (aka Google or YouTube) or finding a mentor or low-cost course.

They have simply invested in themselves.

A score of 5 means you need to have some very specific skills to make money from the idea. But often this means there is more opportunity as fewer people will attempt this.

          Initial Investment

          This is pretty obvious.

A score of 1 means you need no money to start. A score of 5 means you will definitely need money to try this idea.

*A score of 2 means you need very little money but some people may argue you don’t need any money to start!

          Income Potential

          Again another straight forward one.

A score of 1 means you are unlikely to make much money from this. A score of 5 means the income potential is unlimited (seriously… I mean unlimited).

          Passive Income

We’ve already discussed the definition of passive income.

So if the score is 1 it means you will have to continue to trade your time for money to make money from the opportunity.

A score of 5 means it’s possible for you to put in very minimal effort and time to keep making money.

*Some ideas are possible to “systemise” or hire other people (aka freelancers) to make it more hands-off.

          Online Business Ideas

These are online business ideas that you can start from home.

Some of them may seem similar but there is actually quite a big difference between some of these ideas.

Just knowing what business you are actually trying to build can be the difference between success and failure.

          1. Start a Blog

          Yes, a money-making blog is a business!

The term “blog” still seems to have this negative connotation to it (like the word “vegan”!)

People typically imagine some young lady who writes about what she had for dinner yesterday and how she’s feeling.

          via GIPHY

Whereas, in fact, a blog is basically any website that you have ever looked at.

A blog is simply a website that someone (or some people) writes articles (or posts) on.

It’s become one of the most common ways for people to make money online as there is no real limit to what you can earn from a blog…

          And anyone can start one!

Hearing about these blogs was what opened my eyes to money-making opportunities online.

          Positives:

          • You can start a topic on something that interests you aka passion project i.e. write about being a Mom or a yogi or travel etc.
          • Very little technical skills or investment required to get started
          • Monetise the blog in numerous ways to create multiple streams of income i.e. affiliate marketing, display ads, selling products

          Negatives:

          • Takes several months (at least) before you make any significant money
          • Easy to get distracted or not have a focus (shiny objects)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 4 out of 5

Listen in to my chat with Alex Nerney from Create and Go. Lauren and Alex built their health & fitness blog to over $100,000 revenue in their first year and now teach others how to do it (& Avocadu still makes over $20k every month!… oh, and they make over $1 million every year)

If you want to know more about blogging, check out this article which explains EXACTLY how to make $1,000+ a month online from a blog quickly.

          2. Affiliate Marketing

This is actually how I started making money online.

          The concept is pretty simple.

You connect people to a product that they are already looking for.

If someone clicks your link and buys the product, you will get paid a commission.

And commissions range from anything between 4%-90% (I actually promote a course that is super cheap & great and it pays me 80% commission!)

There are heaps of ways to use affiliate marketing, but the best way to scale a passive income is also by using a website (aka blog).

          Positives:

          • No need to spend time creating your own products.
          • Possible to make money from affiliate links quickly using social media platforms (i.e. you could join Amazon Associates right now and recommend your favourite book on Facebook… if someone buys through your link, you’ve just made money online!)
          • Possible to scale the business for unlimited income (we’re getting to this…)

          Negatives:

          • There are certain skills you will need to learn to make a good income from it (i.e. SEO, copywriting etc.)
          • It will take time to build passive income

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 3 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 5 out of 5

Check out my chat with Ben & Jeff from Dollarsrpout who were making $240k/ month when I spoke to them in May 2019 (they only made their first dollar online 3 years before this!)… yes they learnt this all themselves!

Plus, find out why I quit my full-time job after 1 year with my #1 recommendation,

          3. Niche Blogging- SEO Focus

This is a very interesting make money online idea and one that you are taught about in my #1 recommendation.

SEO stands for search engine optimisation.

It basically means trying to get your website ranked on Google’s first page for certain keywords.

A keyword is a word or phrase that someone types into Google.

And some keywords get searched for a lot more than others, for example:

“Gardening tools” gets more searches than “gardening in winter”.

The idea behind it is to choose a very specific niche to write about i.e. gardening tools.

You then would write specific articles (like this one you’re reading about how to make $1,000 a month online).

For example, you may use a keyword such as:

          “Best Gardening Tools For Weeding”

          or

“How to Use a Garden Hoe”

By ranking on the first page of Google you will consistently get “traffic” to your website every month. You do not need to pay any money or advertise your website to get this traffic… people visit your website every month… for free!

You can monetise this site with affiliate links or by placing display ads on the website.

          Positives:

          • Once you rank for keywords on Google it can become very passive
          • It can be very low cost to get started (around $85/ year for website hosting & a domain name is all you really need)

          Negatives:

          • It takes quite a few months for a new website to start to be recognised by Google
          • It can feel like you’re not getting anywhere and many people give up before they see success

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 3 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 5 out of 5

Check out my chat with Ian Pribyl from the Free Internet Marketing Project.

It is genuinely all the information you need to start this business for free (apart from the hosting and domain name ~$85 a year)

          4. Viral Blogging- Using Pinterest & Ads

Many people will use Pinterest as a way to promote (aka market) their blog.

However, there are actually some people that set up their blog specifically for Pinterest.

Are you wondering what the hecky mo I mean?

          via GIPHY

Well, Pinterest is still mainly used by women with a median age of 40.

So if you are pinning about quad bikes do you think you’ll get heaps of traffic from there? Of course not! You may be able to get some traffic, but nowhere near as much as other niches.

The niches that typically do VERY well on Pinterest:

          • Home decor
          • Recipes
          • DIY crafts
          • Women’s fashion

So if you create a blog focussing on any or all of these topics, you are going to be reaching a much larger audience.

          It doesn’t end there either.

There are 2 types of articles that people LOVE to read and save on Pinterest:

          • How to (or ultimate guides)
          • List posts (this is a list post… 25 ways to make $1,000+ a month online)

So some people deliberately set up their blog to focus on creating articles on one of the 4 big topics above and only write “how-to” or list post articles.

This means they end up getting a lot of traffic… quickly!

          Once this happens…

All the blogs need to do is place some high-quality ads on there and wallah… they make $1,000+ a month online very quickly (a few months).

Here’s the kicker about Pinterest compared to Google (or SEO)…

Pinterest doesn’t care how old your website is or how many people link to it. All they care about is if people save and click on your pins.

The other great thing is that Pinterest has its own “SEO traffic” too because…

Pinterest is technically two types of platforms:

          1. A social media platform
          2. A search engine

At the top of Pinterest, there is a search bar that people type “keywords” to find something they are looking for.

Pinterest search bar- Make $1,000 a month online

Note that pins that rank in the top 60 get eyes on them every single month! Google is really only the top 10 or so.

          Positives:

          • Can be very quick to get traffic to your website
          • Once you get over 25,000 monthly sessions to your website you can use Mediavine ad network, which pays much better than other display ads such as Google Adsense.
          • You can also hire writers to continue writing under your name (ghostwriter) to make this method more passive

          Negatives:

          • Writing long “list posts” can be time-consuming
          • Pinterest can be fickle and your traffic can come and go for no apparent reason
          • There is a learning curve to using Pinterest (creating “pins” to boards & scheduling them)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 4 out of 5

Check out my chat with Paul Scrivens from Dare to Conquer. He has created dozens of these types of websites and explains exactly how.

          5. Contributor Blogs

I’d actually never heard of this one before I spoke to this guest on the podcast.

The idea behind this one is that you use a website that already gets some traffic each month. It could from Google or other social media channels, that doesn’t matter too much.

You can start this in a couple of ways:

          1. Buy an existing domain with traffic
          2. Start a new blog yourself and build the traffic up

Once you have a website generating 10,000+ page-views a month other people are more willing to “guest post” or “contribute” on your website as it helps them gain exposure.

This way you can keep producing content and generating traffic to your website without writing anything yourself.

The issue here is that you will need a network of “bloggers” looking to get exposure to their own blogs willing to write for you. If you are brand new to blogging this may not be the best idea.

Network of bloggers- Make $1,000 a month online

But then again you can network with other bloggers quickly in Facebook groups and slowly add the contributors over time.

          Positives:

          • Very little work to maintain once you have contributors for your blog
          • There’s no limit to how much you can scale this

          Negatives:

          • It will require networking and connecting with appropriate bloggers
          • The bloggers are likely to be quite new so the content may not be the best. You will need to sort the wheat from the chaff!

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 3 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 5 out of 5

Check out my chat with Elna Cain from Twins Mommy. She now manages 9 websites and had no idea what a blog was in 2013!

          6. Creating and Selling Courses

This is the way that bloggers tend to go from making a few thousand dollars a month to making 5 or even 6 figures a month.

Yeah seriously, there are plenty of “normal people” making 6 figures a month from their online business.

          Just think about this…

Imagine you make 50% affiliate commission from a $25 e-book about how to use Pinterest. So you make $12.50 each time someone buys the course through your affiliate link.

Let’s say you were making a consistent 100 sales a month due to getting traffic to a certain article about how to use Pinterest for bloggers.

Now, if you create your own (better) online Pinterest course, you could charge $65 and keep all the profits.

Your income jumps to $6,500 a month instead of $1,250!

Now imagine that you create a course or product that you can sell for $500+… or create multiple courses…

However, it doesn’t mean you have to create a huge or really expensive course to start making money in this way.

          Example of smaller courses

You may know how to knit a jumper and there may be other people who would love to learn that.

If you could create a short e-book or an online course on a platform like teachable then you could make money from selling that course.

It certainly helps if you have a blog (aka website) to help promote the course but some people use social media platforms to promote it for free.

A great tip is to build an audience either with an email list, on social media or on your blog. Once you have an audience you can ask them what their struggles are and create a course that suits them. This way you won’t spend ages creating a course that nobody wants!

          Positives:

          • You are more in control of how much money you make
          • It’s possible to create multiple courses or improve your course as you go
          • You can automate the sales by offering other people a chance to become an affiliate and using sales/ email funnels

          Negatives:

          • You have to do the work to make sure people buy it
          • It takes time to create the courses

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 5 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 5 out of 5

Check out my chat with Pete McPherson from Do You Even Blog to hear how he’s made over $10,000 in one month from selling his own blogging courses (he made that with his website in under 2 years).

          7. Affiliate Marketing Business Using Paid Ads

Some people are really just not interested in writing or creating a blog.

          I get it!

I used to be one of them.

It seemed like too much effort for too little reward…

That was until I truly understood the value of a blog to help get free traffic from Google or social media channels.

However, the good news is that it’s possible to create income from affiliate marketing without owning a blog.

There are free methods that you can do this using social media channels. But that requires a lot of elbow grease from you. You will typically need to manually message people and the conversion rates are pretty poor with this method because of the lack of trust!

So this leads onto the paid ads method.

You can pay for ads on Google, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram and almost any platform that exists now.

          How paid ads work:

          1. The platform loves it because you pay them money
          2. You love it because you get targetted traffic
          3. The audience loves it because they find products that they are looking for.

If you can make more money from affiliate commissions than it costs you to place an advert on one of these platforms, then you can imagine how quickly you can grow this!

There are real people out there who use this method to generate an insane amount of money online every month like clockwork.

But it is easier said than done.

These ads are becoming super competitive and if your ad doesn’t grab attention and make people want to find out more, then you can burn through money like there’s no tomorrow!

          Positives:

          • You can make money very quickly
          • It’s possible to scale your income to frightening levels if you can find affiliate programs with good conversion rates & write great ad copy

          Negatives:

          • It’s possible to lose a lot of money very quickly if you don’t figure out how to get people to click on your ads (many people chase lost money here)
          • When you stop buying ads your income stops (it is possible to set up a long-standing advert or hire someone else to do it for you though)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 4 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 3 out of 5

Many of the guests mentioned already have used this technique to promote their website which generally has affiliate links on there. There will be some guests in the new year who particularly focus on this business model though.

          8. Podcasting

So as you can tell I also have a podcast (there is a podcast at the top of the page for this article in case you missed it).

However, my podcast was never designed to make money. I, personally, just wanted to share what I was learning about making money online and have some really cool chats with people that are living life on their own terms.

          Podcast

          Benefits of having a podcast:

          • Learning from experts in your industry
          • Creating a personal brand or branding your business
          • Getting some cool freebies from guests or sponsors (I’ve had some amazing courses from mine)
          • Save time- send people to a podcast episode rather than constantly repeating yourself if someone asks you a question (you still help them get the answer and you don’t need to spend ages writing a long message back!)

But it’s also possible to make money from a podcast. Even if you think you’re a nobody!

Podcasts can have paid sponsors in exchange for you mentioning them during your podcast.

It’s possible to find a small business or a “solopreneur” (possibly a blog owner) who wants to get their brand out there. People are willing to pay $100+ per episode, so if you make 2 episodes a week it’s easily possible to make $1,000 a month online.

People like John Lee Dumas get paid tens of thousands of dollars a month from his podcast.

However, when you are just starting you can offer small businesses something like:

          • I’ll mention your company 2 times per episode
          • I will promote your company on my Twitter account with X followers, my Facebook group with X followers etc.
          • I will send weekly emails to my highly engaged list of X number with promoting your company

This is amazing exposure for small businesses and many are willing to pay you good money for it!

          Positives:

          • Podcasts can be really fun… you get to talk about a topic that you are passionate about
          • You can network with some amazing people who you normally wouldn’t be able to speak to
          • You can start right now, it takes hardly any special equipment or software to start one (see below)

          Negatives:

          • It’s not really passive income as you have to keep creating podcasts to keep the money coming in (although you can outsource it to someone else eventually… but that kind of defeats the point!)
          • Connecting with people on the other side of the world in different time zones can be challenging sometimes (but I manage it on a weekly basis!)

          9. MLM/ Network Marketing

Multi-Level-Marketing or Network Marketing is a type of business where “consultants” (also known as influencers/ recruiters etc.) get paid commission for selling a companies products.

This is a similar way as affiliate marketing but there is one difference…

They also get paid for recruiting more members to the program.

Sometimes this will be a direct commission for recruiting members, and usually, they will get commissions from sales their “downline” make.

This means they could be doing anything they want and their team could be making all the sales.

In reality, it doesn’t always work like that.

There are many stats that show the vast majority of people don’t make good money from MLM programs i.e. 99% of MLM recruits lose money.

But equally, there are people who take it very seriously and live an amazing lifestyle and enjoy the perks of the business.

          MLM Benefits:

          • Free travel
          • Fancy cars
          • Personal development training

Some MLM companies still focus on outdated and poorly scaled techniques such as “home parties” where a recruit may invite people over to show off the products and explain the business opportunity.

But the most successful consultants will always leverage the power of the internet to work 24/7/365. It may be on social media or building their own website.

If you are considering starting an MLM company see if you can find one which ticks these boxes:

          • Low start-up fee – ✅
          • High-quality products – ✅
          • You don’t have to carry inventory – ✅
          • Generous compensation plan – ✅
          • An affiliate-like system (so you can sell online) – ✅
          • Company is in the early momentum phase – ✅

Also, be aware that some MLM companies are just pyramid schemes in disguise. They may offer a “product or service” but really the ONLY way you will get paid decent money is by recruiting more members into the MLM program.

Check out this 5-minute video to see how to avoid a pyramid scheme…

          Positives:

          • Often includes excellent benefits and bonuses i.e. fancy cars, luxury travel and lucrative bonuses
          • If you build a good “downline” you can make passive income

          Negatives:

          • In reality, when you stop working on the business it will stop making you money unless you get to a very high level
          • It is very competitive and often involves “selling” the company to your friends and family to try and get some more recruits
          • You need to have excellent people skills and be able to sell the products and vision to others

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 5 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 3 out of 5

Barry Nelson has 3 successful businesses. One of them is a network marketing business. On the podcast, he explains how he manages his time between work and family and how his life has changed since starting this business… believe it or not he has more freedom now!

          Sell Things Online

Nearly all of the business opportunities above also include selling things online.

The majority of them are digital products that could be their own product or someone else’s, but every make-money opportunity involves selling something.

This section covers the opportunities for selling physical products online.

          10. Dropshipping

This has become a super popular way to make money online in recent years.

First of all, let’s define a common misunderstanding of the difference between dropshipping and Amazon FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon):

          • Dropshipping is when you act as the middle man between suppliers and customers. Therefore you don’t have to own or store any stock.
          • Amazon FBA is when you invest and store merchandise in an Amazon warehouse before being sold.

Here are the basic steps to getting a dropshipping business up and running:

          1. Select a niche
          2. Perform competition research
          3. Find a supplier
          4. Build an eCommerce website (Shopify is the most popular one, it costs from $29-$299 a month)
          5. Acquire customers (i.e. using Facebook ads or other social media)
          6. Analyse and optimise it
          Dropshipping
          Image from Oberlo

Whilst it is actually possible to start dropshipping without any monetary investment (you can use sites like eBay for your supplier’s products), the most success happens when you own your own store and send customers to it.

          Ways To Get Free Traffic:

          • Using social media/ connect with influencers
          • Guest posting on relevant blogs
          • Focusing on building an email list (MailChimp and MailerLite are free)

However, dropshipping can’t rely on SEO or long term free traffic methods because you won’t be writing articles using keywords like you will on a blog (aka website).

Therefore, you will also need a budget to invest in Facebook or Google ads to send potential customers to your store.

Similarly to the Affiliate Marketing with ads business model, the potential is unlimited and you can make a lot of money very quickly.

If you can create an ad that generates more profit compared to how much the ad costs then your income is unlimited.

However, that is easier said than done and you are likely to lose a fair bit of money early on if you’re brand new to creating ads. Some people give up before they find a successful campaign whilst others are aware of the risk and manage to break through to become profitable.

          Positives:

          • No need to store inventory and you don’t need to write long articles or create products
          • Possible to make a lot of money very quickly if you can create a profitable ad campaign

          Negatives:

          • If you stop working and creating ads then you will stop making money
          • It’s possible to lose a lot of money by chasing lost money on ads
          • You will likely need to invest in some training as creating ads and dropshipping requires specific skills (i.e. copywriting and marketing)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 3 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 2 out of 5

Check out my chat with Jeremy Ong from Hustlr. He explains how he started making $60k/ month from dropshipping vape cigarettes… he used to work 14 hour days making $600 a month in his day job.

          11. Sell Things on eBay

          This one’s a great one!

Something that I have again personally done in the past and it’s great to make a bit of pocket money from some random junk you have in the house.

However, there are actually more business savvy methods you can take with this one:

          • Dropshipping (as just explained in #10)
          • “Flea Market Flipping” (buying things for cheap and selling them on)

I won’t go into dropshipping model again but it’s possible to buy things from suppliers for wholesale value and sell them at retail value with this method.

The same principle applies for “flea market flipping”.

The idea is that you buy things (or find things) for cheap or even free.

Then you can put them on eBay and make a healthy profit.

          Here’s the eBay secret sauce:

          1. Buy things locally
          2. Sell them worldwide

          I’m sure you’ve heard the saying…

One man’s junk is another mans treasure

flea market- Make $1,000 a month online

It’s possible to find amazing deals all over the place if you train your mind to find them. Here are some ideas:

          • Flea market sales
          • The dump/ tip
          • Big dumpsters in retail areas
          • The side of the road (no kidding!)
          • Lettings/ real estate agents (who deal with tenants moving out and leaving stuff behind)
          • Moving companies

It’s possible to get a great contact who comes across stuff left behind all over the place. It’s often a huge problem for them to dispose of it, so that leaves you with an opportunity to pick up things for free or dirt cheap and sell them on.

You may think it’s hard to sell certain items but when you put it on a worldwide stage such as eBay, you will be surprised.

          Positives:

          • No money is required to start (you likely have hundreds of dollars worth of items in your house that you don’t use and you can find things at the dump for free!)
          • Once you make a profit you can reinvest that and buy better items that can sell for more (it’s possible to make a lot more than you think as you’re about to find out…)

          Negatives:

          • It takes some hard work and hustle to find these opportunities
          • It’s not the most passive income (although you can outsource tasks, such as finding the items at flea markets or uploading them to eBay etc.)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 2 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 4 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 2 out of 5

One of my personal favourite chats on the podcast was with Rob Stephenson from Flea Market Flippers. He explains how they are flipping a chair they found in the trash to make over $300k and buy a rental property in one year.

          His energy is amazing!

          12. Buy & Sell Cars (Or Other Vehicles)

No matter where you live in the world, chances are… people buy and sell cars there all the time!

Just Google “buy a car” and you will find numerous websites that you can buy and sell cars where you live.

The idea is again pretty simple:

          • Buy cars at a discount
          • Sell them for more

You can even add a step in the middle if you know a thing or two about cars i.e. fix the car up or make it better.

It doesn’t have to be cars though!

Other types of vehicles to “flip”

“Van Life” has become all the rage!

Van life- Make $1,000 a month online

People are realising they can live for a fraction of the price in a van and have the freedom and time to travel wherever they like. This isn’t even grown-up students just out of college. It includes “mid-life crisis’s” and newly pensioners!

If you can learn how to convert vans into a campervan, you can earn some serious money from this.

You can even target specialised vehicles such as VW campervans, which hold their value really well.

Certain cars do hold their value well so it’s even possible to buy a car for yourself and sell it a couple of years later to make a profit (effectively giving you a free car!) Typically, Japanese models that are about 3-5 years old tend to do well for this.

By using these tips it’s possible to make $1,000+ a month online by selling a couple of used cars per month… or fixing up one van every 3 months or so!

          Positives:

          • You can make a quick profit if you can find a good deal on a car.
          • It can be a fun hobby to do during your spare time (i.e. converting vans into campervans is some people’s idea of fun… I’m one of them!)

          Negatives:

          • It’s never really passive income unless you turn this into a business and employ other people
          • You can only make as much money as you can physically buy and sell… so it’s hard to scale the profits

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 2 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 4 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 3 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

The first time I mention him (but not the last). Grant Sabatier from Millenial Money explains how he went from $2 to over $1 million in 5 years, whilst working a normal job. Flipping VW campervans on the side was one of his extra income streams.

          Online Jobs From Home

Some people just don’t want to create an “online business”.

Maybe you just want to make an extra $1,000 a month online by working for someone else. It may be that you don’t want the stress of having to build something yourself or continue to grow it (aka water the plant) over time.

If that is you, then chances are one of these online jobs from home may be perfect for you.

There are normal people all around the world that generate an income every month with one of these jobs.

          13. Virtual Assistant

This is possibly the easiest and quickest way for anyone to start to make $1,000 a month online.

Did you know there are tens of thousands of people who are looking for someone to help manage some smaller tasks for them every day?

These tasks may include (but are not limited to):

          • Email management
          • Book appointments with clients
          • Following up with customers or clients
          • Answering calls
          • Calander management
          • Managing social media accounts
          • Organising files or documents
          • Research
          • Personal errands (booking holidays/ flights)
          • Transcribing
          • Networking

It is becoming increasingly popular for “solopreneurs” to build a business (an entrepreneur who builds a business by themself… often online) online these days.

And oftentimes eventually they need help!

If this sounds like something you’re interested in doing then here are a few…

Ways to find a Virtual Assitant job:

          • Fiverr (or other sites like Upwork, Freelancer etc.) – not the best
          • Job boards such as ProBlogger – better
          • Network on social media (active Facebook groups are great for this) – recommended

Without a doubt, the best way to land one of these gigs is to get to know the person first.

          STOP.

          Re-read that last sentence.

You can do that by following these steps:

          1. Find out where they hang out (is it Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, a forum or somewhere else)
          2. Interact with what they do (comment and share a blog post or social media post and join their email list and REPLY!)
          3. Join communities that they are in and be helpful to people (share your knowledge, opinions and be honest)
          4. Find an area you can see they need help in (i.e. if they have a growing Facebook group, can you help to manage that? Do they take a few days to reply to emails or even fail to do so?… you could help here! Do their blog posts need a spell check? Does their Instagram account suck?)

But whatever you do don’t become a stalker, like…

          via GIPHY

When you use those 4 steps you are much more likely to work with clients that you want to… and you’re much more likely to get paid the amount you deserve!

Here are a few great tips from Drew DuBoff to get the best package:

          • Work out how long you think you will need to spend on the tasks at hand
          • If it’s your first one work on a $25 an hour basis
          • Work out how much that costs per month and aim to get that rate i.e. 40 hours a month (aka 10 hours a week) = $1,000 a month
          • Always aim for a “retainer package”… aka $1,000 per month to do X, Y and Z (not $13.49 an hour to check some emails)

You may need to try it out with your first gig and be a bit more flexible but it’s a great way to start making money online.

          Positives:

          • You can make $1,000+ a month online quickly
          • You can use skills that you already have i.e. email management, Facebook group management, Instagram posting, Organising a calendar, research skills etc.

          Negatives:

          • It is not passive income (although it is possible to turn it into a business and employ others to smaller jobs for you!)
          • Like a traditional job, there’s a limit to how much time you can give to other people aka a limit to how much you can earn

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 1 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 3 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 2 out of 5

Check out my chat with Drew DuBoff, a 21-year-old college student who made $25,000 in 6 months working 10 hours a week. He actually did VA work from Alex Nerney (the guy who made $100k in year 1), another Make Time Online guest mentioned in #1.

          14. Freelancing

This is similar to Virtual Assitant work.

But it typically involves providing some sort of specific work for your client i.e. Pinterest account management, writing blog posts, proofreading blog posts, researching blog posts, editing podcasts etc.

The 4 steps in the VA section apply again here.

The thing you likely have to offer compared to cheaper VA’s or freelancers from sites such as onlinejobs.ph is your English skills and your ability to connect with the clients.

Just speaking from personal experience, I am much more likely to hire someone who I already know.

If it’s a toss-up between a random profile on the internet or a real person I’ve messaged before I know who I will choose.

Here are some more tips to help you land some freelance work:

          • Use your own website to showcase your skills (have a “hire me” page on the menu bar, add any previous examples to prove authority)
          • Guest post for free if you are trying to get a writing Freelance gig (simply write “your niche + guest post” into Google to find opportunities… simple eh?)
          • Connect with other Freelancers (use Facebook groups and ask on social media if anyone is a freelancer)
          • Ask existing contacts if they know anyone that could use your services… and explain what your services include (sometimes they may even need them!)
Freelance hire me page- Make $1,000 a month online
          Tips from Elna Cain

There are 5 different ways you can get paid as a freelancer:

          • By the project, or flat rate
          • By the hour
          • How many words you write
          • By the page
          • Retainer fee, for ongoing work (the golden ticket!)

They all work for different people but the ideal one is if you can land a retainer fee for ongoing work.

Whichever rate you (or your client) choose, try to make sure you are aiming for around $25+ an hour still.

For example, if it takes you 3 hours to write a 1,000-word article and the client wants to pay you by the amount of word you write. You know you can accept that project if they pay:

$75 divided by 1,000 = $0.08 per word (that would be $80 for 3 hours work!)

The more skilled you get the more money you can demand (once you gain the confidence, you will no longer ask!)

          Positives:

          • Can be a consistent income stream & you can start earning quickly
          • Possible to charge higher rates over time & no investment is needed

          Negatives:

          • You still trade your time for money
          • Can be hard to find good opportunities

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 2 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 3 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 4 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 2 out of 5

Numerous guests have done some form of freelance work, including Pete McPherson and Elna Cain. But Ryan Biddulph managed to island-hop and retire early thanks to smart blogging and freelance work.

Top tip- you can get paid quickly from Elna Cain’s viral blog if you’re a Mommy blogger!… Plus, I’m always on the lookout for writers #justsaying

          15. Running Ad Campaigns

Put your hand up if you know someone that owns a business.

Keep your hand up if you think they would like more customers that are already interested in what their business offers.

If you’re like me you have both hands in the air right now (it makes it really hard to type!)

          via GIPHY

These businesses would LOVE to pay someone to send targeted clients and customers their way.

The big word there is targeted.

          How to get targeted clients

If you run an advert on Facebook and Google and get 100,000 die-hard American football fans to click on a ballet workshop, how many do you think will purchase the workshop?

          Yeah… roughly exactly diddly squat!

But what if you sent 100 parents of ballet enthusiasts who have signed posters of Misty Copeland in their bedroom? I have no idea who Misty is either… I just Googled famous ballet dancers!

Yeah… the company would make a lot of sales!

          Here’s the truth:

Google, Facebook, Instagram and all online algorithms are becoming so smart that they send targetted ads to people who are looking for them.

Seriously, just think about the types of ads you see on YouTube or Facebook. Are you kind of interested in them?

          Of course you are!

You can make your ads super-specific including:

          • Age
          • Gender
          • Where they live
          • Language they speak
          • Interests
          • Behaviours
Facebook Ads- Make $1,000 a month online

If you can learn how to create ads on these platforms that get clicked by targeted audiences then a lot of people would love to pay you for this skill.

          Positives:

          • You can make a lot of money from making good ads
          • It’s also a skill you can transfer and use in your own business or help you to set up a profitable blog (i.e. send traffic to your sales pages, affiliate marketing programs etc.)

          Negatives:

          • It is not a passive income stream as you are trading your time for money
          • Creating successful ads is much harder now (people are more aware of them) and you will need to keep learning the skill as it can be different on each platform

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 3 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 4 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

The second mention of Grant Sabatier, who shall be known as the king of side hustles forever! He used Google ads to start making money as a side hustle and learnt about them for free on YouTube.

          16. Writing White Papers

So a white paper is kind of a cross between a magazine article and a corporate brochure.

It is supposed to help readers solve a problem, understand an issue or make a decision. Here’s an example.

Basically, it should educate and sell.

White paper example- Make $1,000 a month online

This is why clients are willing to pay $3,000+ for a 6-14 page white paper.

Just like any skill in life the more you practice writing these the quicker you will become.

Chances are you have been to school.

If you are lucky enough to have done so, you have probably been taught the exact skills needed for writing white papers:

          1. Research
          2. Writing

Typically you will find the best opportunities from business-to-business companies.

These companies will often have complicated offerings and they want to convince another business to buy their product or service.

This is an area where you may find it hard to get into if you don’t have experience in a particular industry. They can be complex and will often only want to hire people who have a good understanding of it.

But here are some tips to find an opportunity to write white papers:

          • Ask existing clients or contacts– explain what a whitepaper is if they don’t know and show them how it can help them
          • Look out for companies that write brochures or articles written online and explain how a whitepaper can be better for them
          • Offer to write one for a fraction of the normal price (or even free) to get started and build a portfolio (this is one of Grant Sabatier’s top tips for side hustles)

Once you have done one or two it’s much easier to show other businesses what you can do… ideally with their results (everyone likes results… aka how much money you will make them)

Another top Sabatier tip- try to find clients in the same industry so you build on your knowledge after each white paper

          Positives:

          • You can make a lot of money from a considerably low word count
          • It becomes easier to do with practice

          Negatives:

          • You are trading your time for money
          • It can be hard to get started

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 4 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

Mention number 3 for Grant Sabatier! This guy had some crazy work ethic for 5 years! and still does!

          17. Survey Sites

*Disclaimer- You will not be able to make $1,000 a month online from this method!*

Maybe the title should be 24 ways to make $1,000+ a month online and one way to make a few hundred dollars (but it just doesn’t have the same ring to it).

Yet some people will try to claim you can earn 4 figures a month from surveys. But they will almost definitely be about to scam you or are just lying!

It is possible to earn $200+ a month online from survey sites though.

It’s not easy to make a lot of money from them but here are the…

Top tips to make surveys worth your while:

          1. Create a separate email address so you only get survey emails in there
          2. Sign up to as many legit survey sites as possible as they don’t all send surveys out every day
          3. Always be honest (it can get confusing keeping up any white lies)
          4. Create a habit and complete surveys you are accepted onto at the same time every day i.e. after your breakfast, during your lunch break or my favourite… when you first get to work… cheeky monkey!
          5. Avoid paying for a survey site… EVER

Companies are happy to pay people for their opinions as it helps them to make sure their ideas are suitable for the market.

          via GIPHY

All you have to do is sign up to legitimate survey sites and offer your honest opinions.

          Positives:

          • You don’t need any special skills, just the internet!
          • You’re about to find out that you can make $40+ within the next 30 minutes

          Negatives:

          • Some survey sites refuse your surveys (if you don’t fit their criteria)
          • It’s only realistic to make a few hundred dollars a month from this method… you’re not going to quit your job from it

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 1 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 1 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 2 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

Many of the Make Time Online podcast guests admit to doing a bit of this to earn some pocket money in the early days. Check out 15 legit survey sites that pay you money if you’d like to earn $45 in the next few minutes (that’s just from signing up to them!)

          18. Dog Walking/ Pet Sitting

This one is technically not online (obviously).

However, it is possible to find opportunities online or through certain apps, such as Rover.

You are probably thinking… is it even possible to make $1,000 a month from this side hustle?

Would you believe me if one guy made over 6 figures a year from this side hustle?

He obviously created a system to outsource it and make it more like a business but it just shows what is possible from seemingly simple money-making opportunities.

Grant Sabatier’s friend was still working in a full-time job when he did this too!

You would be amazed at how many people would love to walk dogs and get paid and there is a growing trend for people to own a dog.

          Positives:

          • Easy to start as no specific skills are required (apart from walking)
          • You can use this as a side hustle in your free time and at times that work for you
          • You get to play with dogs without being tied to owning one!

          Negatives:

          • It’s not passive income (unless you create a business)
          • It’s hard (but not impossible) to quit your day job from dog walking

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 1 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 1 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 1 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 3 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

Grant Sabatier actually even did this as a side hustle himself! Technically it’s not online but you can use websites like indeed.com to find the gigs almost anywhere.

          More Techie Online Work

So these side hustles require you to have a bit more knowledge into certain technical aspects.

It doesn’t mean you need to be able to code really hard stuff.

And these skills you need can certainly be learnt quickly and cheaply (or even free thanks to YouTube!)

          19. Domain Flipping

Did you know that website URL’s are kind of like a piece of property or real estate?

You can buy websites that are already making money and carry on taking income.

Kind of like buying then renting out a house.

Or you can buy a website to add value by fixing it up and selling it for a profit (as you can do with a house too).

These are some tips for what to look for in a domain:

          • Look for expired domains (DomCop or ExpiredDomains.com)
          • Especially 3-4 letter combos, single words or popular double word domain names
          • A good domain authority and page authority (use Moz to find this out)
          • How many backlinks the website has (which affects DA & PA)
          • What the website has been used for previously… try to avoid porn sites or illegal drug dealing etc. (use archive.org)
          • Avoid previous Google or Adsense bans (isbanned.com and bannedcheck.com)

Once you buy a website you can also improve its value by “fixing it up” or making it better.

Here are the most common ways you can improve a website:

          • Improve the SEO of the website
          • Get backlinks to the website from trusted websites (helps to improve Domain Authority and hence SEO)
          • Improve the website speed (add or remove certain plugins)
          • Use high-speed themes & designs i.e. Genesis (coding can help here)
          • Write more content to help rank for more keywords
          • Add appropriate affiliate links or display ads to improve the monetisation from the website

This may sound complicated but these are all skills you can learn and there are loads of tools you can use.

For example, aHrefs has the industry’s most accurate backlink checker, which can help you see what backlinks any website gets…

          via GIPHY

And as with everything you will only get better at picking these bargain domains over time.

          Positives:

          • Possible to make money quickly from cheap domains if they have expired
          • There is no cap on how many domains you can own & some domain names will go up over time without doing anything (if they become popular or in-demand)
          • You can “force” an increase in value quicker by “fixing it up”

          Negatives:

          • It’s possible to lose money by buying a domain for more than you can sell it for
          • It’s not really passive income (although you can buy and hold the website if it generates income)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 3 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 3 out of 5

Grant Sabatier admits this was his most profitable side hustle. You can also use Flippa.com to buy and sell domain names.

          20. Build Websites

If you have never done this, it may seem very hard to do.

However, it has never been easier to build your own website. In fact, I can build mine from scratch in 30 seconds thanks to the tools from my #1 recommendation.

I don’t know how to code and I had no idea how to design a website before the one you are reading right now.

Using WordPress means that you can use plugins to make the design and speed of the website very good very quickly.

          Wordpress plugins

There are thousands of website themes that you can use, either free or paid versions. This means you can make your website stand out just by uploading a different theme, without needing to know how to code.

Here are some tips for building a website as a side hustle:

          • Find a small business or entrepreneur who has a poor quality website or is looking to make one (same tactics as earlier… join FB groups & network on social media… become a friend, don’t stalk people!)
          • Go above and beyond for your first client (really understand what they want and do it for whatever price they are willing to pay)
          • Once you know how to do that you can use it as an example for another bigger client in the same industry i.e. law firm/ accountancy/ real estate broker etc.

By using those 3 simple steps Grant Sabatier managed to make $50,000 in 4 days from his second client that he built a website for!

          Positives:

          • People are prepared to pay a lot of money for a good quality website
          • You can offer a very specific solution to people’s problems

          Negatives:

          • There is a learning curve for creating a website exactly how you want it
          • Some clients may ask for more technical bits than you are capable of delivering. However, it is possible to outsource those parts or learn them in time.

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 5 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 1 out of 5

Another side hustle for Grant Sabatier… that’s number 6 for him! Check out my number 1 recommendation to see an example of someone selling a website for $40k.

          Other Business Opportunities

It’s possible to use online marketing and the internet to promote or make money in other businesses.

There have been numerous guests on Make Time Online that have utilised these opportunities.

          21. Promote Existing Business

You may have your own physical business already.

It’s easily possible to additionally make $1,000+ a month online by utilising a website and online marketing skills.

Seriously, just imagine you have a plumbing business in San Francisco…

How much more business could you get if you were to rank on page one of Google for “San Francisco Plumbers”?

If you have a niche business in an area that is not competitive, it may be much easier than you think to rank for keywords that can help your business (check out #3 for more info on SEO)

Also, it’s possible to get a lot more attention to your business just by using social media content.

Examples of social media content to grow your business:

          • User-generated content. Can you add a competition or prize to someone that posts a picture of something with a #yourbusiness? GoPro does this really well (see pic below)
          • Facebook Livestreams show up on peoples notifications
          • Podcasts really help to build trust (see #9)
          • Infographics (use canva to design them for free)
          • Live webinars to give people the chance to interact and ask questions (you can upload these to YouTube or Facebook after to re-use the content)
          • Client testimonials (videos are ideal)
          • Guides or eBooks
GoPro engaging audeince- Make $1,000 a month online
          GoPros User-generated content

Getting people to engage and interact is one of the best ways to grow your business. All social media channels can help you to do that.

          Positives:

          • Your business can grow exponentially
          • Very little monetary investment is required to build an online social media presence

          Negatives:

          • You may need to invest some time into learning how to create a website and write content to be found in Google
          • It can be time-consuming to try to use ALL social media channels (focus on one or 2 to build engagement before trying to be everywhere!)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 3 out of 5

Riaz Shah explains how he used his online marketing knowledge to promote his events company and now generate over $20k a month.

          22. Build a Personal Brand

This is quite a hard one to measure.

It also closely links to the previous make money idea.

But, it’s possible to use the internet to create a personal brand that can help you in any business or area of life you move into.

Here are some ways to build a personal brand:

          • Social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube etc.)
          • Starting a podcast
          • A website or blog

A personal brand means you are much more likely to connect with your audience and build trust over time. This means if you come to sell anything in the future or are looking to raise capital, you will already have people from around the world that know and trust you.

The key to building this brand is to be completely yourself and honest at all times.

People can tell when someone is being fake or trying too hard to be someone they are not.

If you don’t know something or are trying to learn something then let your audience “follow your journey” rather than claiming to be an expert already.

Or you can even be a “research assistant” for them!

          Positives:

          • It’s not very much extra work to take a picture or video to share what you are doing
          • It can help you to stay accountable with your goals and vision

          Negatives:

          • It can feel like you are putting in work without seeing an instant reward
          • It’s hard to measure exactly what value your personal brand actually has

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 3 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 2 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 3 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 3 out of 5

Tej’s second mention but he explains how it’s possible to use online marketing, social media and a podcast to build a personal brand from the comfort of your own home.

          Investing

Some people think that you can only invest when you have money in the bank to do so.

But this way of thinking is exactly why some people never have any month at the end of the money.

It’s possible to find investment opportunities online for anyone’s budget and with a bit of creativity.

It’s also possible to make $1,000+ a month online using these investments.

Just by planning for these opportunities, it helps to set a budget as you know exactly what that money is going towards.

          23. Invest In Index Funds

The hidden in plain sight secret of the rich…

If you’re looking for truly passive income this is the one for you.

Obviously you need to have the monies to invest in the first place but by using “the 4% rule” it’s possible to retire early and be inflation-proof!

          “The 4% Rule” Overview:

          1. Work out how much money you (and your immediate family) spend in a year
          2. Times that number by 25
          3. Stick it into index funds
          4. Retire & never need to work another day in your life

The reason this works is that index funds will return a conservative 7% interest per year over the long term.

So if you were to take 4% out of your “pot” at the end of the year, you still are leaving the “pot” to grow by 3%+ each year (which should cover inflation).

          For example:

          1. You spend $40,000 a year
          2. $40k x 25 = $1 million
          3. After one year your pot = $1,070,000
          4. You take 4% to live off aka $42,800
          5. Your pot is now worth $1,027,200
          6. Repeat and grow!

If you’re like me you’re probably thinking, well how am I supposed to get a pot of $1 million?

Erm… hello… have you not been reading this article?!!

I’m not saying it’s easy but guess what… it has been done (no prizes for guessing which podcast guest did it!)

Index funds capitalise on 3 things:

          1. Compound interest
          2. You pay the lowest fees for a “managed portfolio of stocks and shares
          3. You limit human error (and emotions of buying high and selling low)

I’m not going to go into detail here about why index funds beat any other form of investment in the stock market over the long run (the podcast series below does that for you)

Index funds beat hedge funds by 300% in 8 years- Warren Buffet (the greatest stock market investor of all time) has instructed his financial planners to stick all of his wealth into index funds for his family when he dies.

          Positives:

          • If you invest with vanguard it is truly passive income (you only need to login once a year to withdraw your $40k!)
          • If you don’t live in the USA, UK or Australia you can invest with Saxo bank or Internaxx in index funds ETF’s

          Negatives:

          • You need the money in the first place
          • You are reliant on the market to continue what it’s done for the last 100+ years (until the current financial system changes it is very likely this pattern will continue in the long run)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 2 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 2 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 5 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 4 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 5 out of 5

This is the exact strategy Grant Sabatier used to retire early. You can check out the 3 part podcast series on index funds (roughly 20 min an episode):

          1. Why you should invest in index funds right now
          2. How to invest in index funds
          3. The ultimate strategy to invest in index funds

Scheduling these 3 episodes for when you next drive to work or go to the gym could change your whole financial future for the better.

          24. Invest In Property/ Real Estate

So property can be more hands-on than paper assets, such as index funds.

But it does mean you have more control if you have the right knowledge.

If you buy a property with positive cash flow (the rental income makes more money than it costs each month) then you are “property bubble proof”.

Hence, if the market crashes, you can hold your property and continue to rent it out for a profit.

Over time the value of property continues to rise (for the same reason index funds do… the current fiat currency financial system).

You can actually use online systems to help build a portfolio, such as:

          • Social media
          • Podcasts. You can start one yourself (like Tej did) or The Property Podcast has everything you need to invest
          • Blogs

          You may be wondering how.

Well, Facebook for one is full of property groups.

Even if you don’t have the money to invest but want to get involved you can start trying to find “property deals” on and sell them on.

Again, if you have good personal branding online this will really help to find potential investors that would love to buy that deal from you.

This is, in fact, how I have managed to turn a 3-bed terraced house into an 8 bedroom HMO in the UK, whilst living in Qatar. I connected with many property investors and developers until we found a deal that suited us.

If it wasn’t for social media this wouldn’t have been possible.

          Positives:

          • It’s possible to find deals on social media or other online channels
          • It’s possible to sell deals in the same way
          • You have a lot of control over the asset with the right property education (there are so many strategies)

          Negatives:

          • Property is less liquid than other assets and can be slow (due to regulations and hoops to jump through)
          • Even if you use lettings agents and outsource work it’s not as passive as paper assets
          • If you need to sell at a bad time you can lose a lot of money (the key is to only invest what you won’t need in the near-mid future)

          Ratings:

          • Difficulty: 4 out of 5
          • Skill Level Required: 4 out of 5
          • Initial Investment: 5 out of 5
          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5
          • Passive Income: 4 out of 5

          25. Invest In A Friend/ Startup

This one is riskier than other methods of investing.

But the rewards can be much larger.

These opportunities can also be presented from people building a personal brand online. If you know the person and trust them, you’re much more likely to invest in them.

There are startup companies starting all the time and they often need investment to get them off the ground.

Before investing in a startup make sure you do your research and don’t just jump in because someone is your friend!

          via GIPHY

Here are some things to look for:

          • A strong target market for the product or service
          • Good margins
          • Strong management team
          • Credible business plan and projections
          • An exit strategy
          • Passion and commitment

It’s possible to invest in startups on crowdfunding platforms or if you know someone starting a business.

          Positives:

          • Possible to make a big return on your investment
          • It’s possible to get paid passive income from dividends or a lump sum if there is an exit strategy to sell for a certain price

          Negatives:

          • It can be very hard to know which startups will be successful and which ones will flop
          • Your investment can be tied up for some time before you get any returns

          Ratings:

          • Income Potential: 5 out of 5

          What does Primerica do?

Primerica offers a range of financial services for the everyday person. From insurance to investment opportunities, Primerica will have something for anyone.

They also are a Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) company that provides every day people the opportunity to start their own home business and make money by selling their services.

The 4-minute video below sums it up (feel free to watch it on x2 speed if you’re in a hurry).

Primerica’s mission statement- To help families become properly protected, debt-free and financially independent.

Chances are it sounds like a great company that everyone would want to be a part of.

          So let’s dig in a bit deeper…

          Primerica’s Product Line

There are 6 main products that Primerica offers, with branches and different options off of each product:

          • Term Life Insurance
          • Financial Investments
          • Long-term Care Insurance
          • Auto & Home Insurance
          • Credit Monitoring
          • Debt Management Plans

Here is an example of the Primerica dashboard if you were to use them for financial investments…

          Is Primerica a Pyramid Scheme

Primerica offers easy to use financial services.

This does mean they use mutual funds for investments as you can see above.

It does also mean that you as a customer don’t really have control over your money, investments or price point of insurance.

As you continue to read this Primerica review, you will find out more about these products in more detail and my personal recommendation (which I believe should be taught in school to everyone!)

You’re probably really on this page because you want to know…

How Can You Make Money With Primerica?

So it’s possible for you to become a recruiter for Primerica’s products.

Basically, if you were to sell these products to someone else you can receive a commission.

You can also earn by getting other people to become a Primerica recruiter.

Before we dive into that, it’s important to know…

How Much Does It Cost To Start The Primerica MLM Business?

It costs $99 one time payment to get started.

Then there is a $25 monthly payment to stay active as a Primerica recruiter.

There really are no additional costs or an amount you need to sell or spend on other products each month to stay active.

So you’re probably wondering about the…

          Primerica Compensation Plan

There are 4 main ways for you to earn a commission from Primerica:

          1. Sales Commissions on Insurance – Commissions earned when you sell any financial plans (see the screenshot below)
          2. Overrides on Downline’s Insurance – 10% override commissions for the sales from your downlines (you can earn a commission for “11-tiers” down below you)
          3. Differentials from Downline’s Insurance Sales – You get commissions for helping your downlines make insurance sales
          4. Commission on Other Products – You can earn a commission from any other Primerica product sales
          Primerica Compensation

The whole 11 tier deep thing can be confusing so let’s take an example.

You join Primerica and become a representative.

This means you make 25% of any Primerica sales you make i.e. $250 commission on a $1,000 product sale.

If you get other people to join Primerica as a representative you can get “promoted” up the ranks.

So let’s imagine you are a regional manager…

If one of the representatives that joined through you makes a $1,000 sale he would make $250 commission (25% of the sale) and you would make $450 (70%-$25 = 45% of the sale).

Basically you can start to make money from the sales of your downline too.

Now, I can almost hear your mind asking…

          Is Primerica a Scam?

          Technically no.

There are two main ways an online course can be a scam:

          1. Take your money and run off into the sunset, never to be heard from again
          2. Provide some information but it doesn’t live up to their promises

Primerica has a long-standing business record and clearly does provide some legit financial products.

Are these the best products on the market? Personally I very much doubt it (well I can guarantee mutual funds are not as you’ll find out later in this Primerica MLM review).

If you’d like to learn more “Ways to Spot an Online Marketing Scam” then click the highlighted text.

          Is Primerica a Pyramid Scheme?

Now, this is the interesting one!

Again technically no… Primerica is not a pyramid scheme.

However, I do think it’s important to be aware of how you make money within this MLM program.

Check out this 6-minute video to learn more about how to detect a pyramid scheme.

          What is a Pyramid Scheme?

A pyramid scheme is a promise of paying clients for them recruiting new members into the program, rather than selling an actual product.

As Primerica does have numerous products and it is possible for recruiters to make money by selling these products it is not a pyramid scheme.

If the only way for them to make money was by recruiting new members then it would 100% be a pyramid scheme.

          Primerica Review: The Good

Here are some of the things I like about Primerica…

#1 Low Costs to Start a Business

It’s not every day that you get an opportunity to start a business for $124.

          Is Primerica a Pyramid Scheme

This may lure a lot of people into jumping into it without giving it any thought.

However, you’re obviously not “a lot of people” as you are doing your due diligence first! Congrats!

#2 Good BBB Rating & Reviews on Forbes

It has been featured in Forbes, A. M. Best and has a rating of A+ on Better Business Bureau.

          Primerica Review

This shows the company is well regarded and has been in business for over 40 years!

They must be doing something right!

#3 Screening Process to Qualify as a Distributor

It’s not possible to become a distributor of Primerica without going through a “screening process”.

This means that at least the people selling the products have had some form of training and

Glassdoor makes it clear there is some training that all members go through when they join Primerica.

#4 Low On-Going Costs- No Need to Buy Products or Keep Inventory

Many MLM programs require you to sell a certain amount each month.

This usually means that when you are starting you need to buy the products just to stay active as a distributor. This often results in needing to buy storage space for all the extra products you have piling up!

This is not the case at Primerica. You only need to pay $25 a month to stay active.

#5 Primerica is Not Technically a Pyramid Scheme

Primerica is not a pyramid scheme as already discussed in this Primerica MLM review.

          Is Primerica a pyramid scheme?

As you can see there have been over 5 million lives insured and 2 million client investment accounts.

The products are definitely used by real people.

They’re not just products to make it seem like they are selling something, but really it only works if you recruit more people.

Primerica Review: The Not So Good

Every company or business opportunity will have pros and cons.

Anyone that doesn’t tell you about the cons upfront is probably trying to take your money and run before you find out!

Here are some of the bad parts of Primerica that you should be aware of before diving in…

          #1 Complaints About The Products

I’m not going to beat around the bush here.

There are SO many complaints about the products.

Here are two of the most common ones on Consumer affairs, Glassdoor and BBB.

          Primerica Review
          Being awkward at paying insurance
          Is Primerica a pyramid scheme?
Hard to get money out of investments (oh yeah and remember mutual funds are terrible because of the high fees!)
          Primerica Review
Increasing the insurance payments without telling customers

These are honestly not cherry-picked (in fact I saw some others such as taking the life savings from a veteran pensioner).

If you were to look at any of the linked websites above you will find hundreds of these kinds of reviews.

#2 Complaints About Primerica’s MLM Opportunity

          If you’re thinking…

“Oh well the products may not be great but at least I could make a quick bob!”

Well the same websites also throw out some curveballs for the MLM business opportunity.

          Primerica Review
          Taking advantage of people
          Is Primerica a Pyramid Scheme
The only way to make good money is by recruiting other people (sounds like a pyramid scheme right?)

Again, these are not selected by me. There were so many on there saying the same kind of things!

#3 The Finance Industry Is Not For Everyone

It doesn’t matter what the representatives tell you.

This gig is NOT for everyone!

Trying to sell financial products to unsuspecting victims when your finances are in tatters is not something that “anyone” can do.

You are going to have to sell and you are going to have to keep asking people. If you don’t want to do this kind of thing, then this is not the opportunity for you.

And yes there are ways to make money from home without being a pushy salesperson!

#4 Lack of Success Stories & Low Success Rate

Just check out the statement below from the Primerica 2016 income disclosure.

From January 1 through December 21, 2016, Primerica paid cash flow to its North American sales force at an average of $6,088 per life licensed representative.

          That is the average!

Could you live off $6,000 a year?

Now let me tell you. The top dogs of this company will be making A LOT of money. So what do you think that means most people are earning?

          Bingo… diddly squat!

#5 You Really Need to Sell to Your Friends & Family

Again you will hear from the representative pushing you to join that you won’t need to sell this to people you know.

“There are so many other ways to do it”

          Here’s the truth…

They don’t tell you the other ways because they don’t exist!

The ones that do exist involve paying for some other forms of training and putting in years of work to understand how internet marketing actually works. But if you do that, you will find way better things to promote along the way that Primerica will be a waste of time!

          #6 Controversy & Lawsuits

In 2014 Primerica set aside $15.4 million to settle 238 cases.

          I’ll say that again…

          238 lawsuit cases!

If that doesn’t ring the alarm bells, then I’m not sure what will!

My Opinion – Primerica MLM Opportunity

          It’s not worth it.

The products are not very good. The price of the policies increase randomly, mutual funds eat your profits due to commissions and people don’t rely on one company for their finances any more.

It’s so much easier to shop around (thanks Google) that this whole business model is outdated.

Even if the products were good here is what real people say about the company…

          Is Primerica a Pyramid Scheme

“It’s a pyramid scheme in disguise” appears in 46 reviews!

The only way you’ll make money from this is if you get others to join the representative program. And you’ll have to lie to them about how great the company is to do that!

Is There a Better Way to Invest Your Money?

          YES!!

          Index funds!!

I’m so glad you asked that eventually, it’s been killing me to not scream this the whole way through this Primerica review.

Obviously index funds aren’t the same as life insurance but if you teach all of your family about them it will be better than it in the long run!

I won’t go into detail about why index funds beat mutual funds or any other type of investments in the stock market for 99.9% of people right now as that will be too long.

Is There An Alternative to The Primerica MLM Business?

It wasn’t that long ago that I was still trying to figure out how it’s possible for people to make money online.

I wanted to find a passive income system that ticked a few boxes:

          1. I could work on part-time when I wanted (I was still in a full-time job)
          2. Therefore I needed it to not cost a fortune to start and maintain
          3. Didn’t need me to sell stuff to my friends and family

It was in September 2018 that I found Wealthy Affiliate.

In September 2019 I quit my full-time job.

The best thing about it is:

          • It’s free to start
          • Qualified traffic is brought to you for free (just think about how you found this review… there was no money or time spent from me promoting this!)
          • You get me as a personal coach to help you on your journey
          • You don’t need ANY technical skills to start

When you try out this program you will see why so many people recommend it.

          Technically no.

But if you want to make any decent money from it you will have to get others to join the program, and likely sell your soul in the process to do so!
